Terror Strike Eight on Obama's Watch

While President Obama was icing his sore lip this weekend, Americans narrowly avoided tragic fatalities from an eighth terror strike--on American soil--during his tenure.

The results of which were nearly immediately sold to the American people as, "this is an isolated incident, he was working alone, nothing more to report." Of course we've heard that a time or two--or eight--over the last two years.

The troubling part of these occurrences is how many adulations and congratulations seemed to be passed around. Pardon me if I'm the only that feels this way, but getting lucky because the enemy is really dumb eight times in a row is NOT particularly comforting to me.

The attack this weekend was not completely dissimilar to the Times Square bomber. A crowded location, hundreds maybe thousands in attendance, and he goes so far as to place the vehicle within range of the event, and detonates. In this case it turned out to be a dud. In the case of Times Square the not-so-bright just didn't know how to properly detonate what he had.

Still, in both instances we had muslim males between the ages of 17 and 40--just in case anyone from TSA wished to know. But of course that was the case in six of the previous seven terror strikes we've had launched against us on Obama's watch. Whether it was one of the three military recruitment center shootings, the muslim practitioner at Ft. Hood, the ever genius islamic male who could not light his briefs while the plane was landing in Detroit, the Times Square bomber, the printer bombs, and now the Somali-born Oregonian. All of them islamic, all of them male (that we are able to know to date) and all of them dead set on killing Americans, to the point where they launched a strike against us.

So is it hubris, or ignorance that caused TSA to molest the breasts of mothers, wives, and girls as young as 12 this past weekend?

Is it stupidity or mental disability that causes the administration to continue to believe that they have kept us safe while on duty? (Actually I have a learning disabled son, and this comparison is more of an insult to the learning disabled, than it is the administration, my apologies.)

Fundamentally the administration somehow believes that by looking at all passengers on airplanes in as color-blind way as possible, they are doing what is necessary to keep Americans from danger.

Yet if you add up the number of total fatalities that could've occurred from the eight terror strikes radical Islamic males have carried out against Americans in just the past two years, you're talking hundreds of thousands of injured and easily more dead than 9/11 times ten.

The president and his team are asleep at the wheel. Being lucky in apprehending attackers after they've executed the attack (and in one instance barely able to pull him from the plane he was moments from being airborne on) is not equivalent with keeping Americans secure.

In Oregon the officials claim to have sold the Somali teen the fake bomb, but he believed he was dealing with someone in northwestern Pakistan. His trail of intent to injure Americans was being watched, or so we are told.

Yet he had gone so far as to hit the launch button on the cell phone.

And here's an interesting little question, what if Somali-boy had sniffed out the dud, and replaced with a new item all together, or had been able to find someone willing to reconfigure the fake? Why did the authorities wait until he hit "fire?"

Is this what is to be expected of the Obama Justice department from here on?

Is this the best that we can hope for?

Increasingly the number of attacks have demonstrated considerable weaknesses in a completely free society. More will be done to exploit such "weaknesses." The headlines of this failed attack will now spur those on, who are in waiting, and who are preparing to avoid the mistakes of Somali-boy, and to aim with greater precision on open groups of people, even outside of "key" or "important" areas.

It is improbable to guess the total number of attacks we will undergo on our own soil before the elections of 2012, but my guess is the terrorists will get one out of every ten or so right. And now that we've undergone eight, our chances of surviving the next two years without any casualties or heartache are quickly slimming.

It runs against President Obama's nature to see the evil where it truly sits. It is unlike him to name radical islamic jihadists as the problem. It is completely within his mode of operation to let TSA keep feeling up the ladies who are important to us, merely to try to appear "fair" to "everyone."

But President Obama, you're running out of time. Start profiling on the basis of actual data. Find the killers--not the weapons. Become as aggressive and ruthlessly pragmatic about the security of the American people as you were say about health care. We deserve it. You work for us... remember that.

In the meantime we pray that bloody lips from an overly aggressive shooting stroke, in a game of pick-up basketball is the most violence any of us have to face.

The stitches of a nation's mourning heart will not heal as quickly!
