Media Gives Aid and Comfort to the Idiots

If there are any liberals left, I’d ask them to identify just one accomplishment of the Obama administration that sets it apart from, say, a group of fruit bats running the country.

Yes, I’ll wait.

OK, time’s up.

For six of the most tedious years the country has ever endured, we’ve been scolded – “eat our peas,” “teachable moment,”—lectured and laughed at by the most incompetent people who have ever held the Oval Office.

And what makes it really tedious is the tediousness with which the media has rushed to give those idiots aid and comfort for their daily buffoonery.

Whether it’s the worst dotcom idea in history- yes, healthcare.gov is even worse than drkoop.com—the failure to produce jobs, getting the surge strategies backward in Iraq and Afghanistan, or the wastefulness of the special Obama brand of cronyism, to name a very few, the media delightedly defends poor politics, poor policy and poor product from a group that seems to exist for no other reason than getting adulation while they pageant wave through the years.

This week many press outlets were still anxious to give Obama a pass on the IRS scandal as just another GOP fishing expedition.

“More recently the ‘scandal’ produced headlines about the IRS destroying important email messages,” says the Rachel Maddow blog, “which again led fair-minded people to a simple conclusion: that’s outrageous. But then the relevant details came out, the allegations fell apart, and it was again time to move on.”

OBAMA

Oh… now I see why it’s called MoveOn.org.

Nothing to see there.

Let’s talk about the real important issues at MSNBC like the terrible plight of gay couples who make $8,000 per year more than the average straight couple.

Think about the terrible deductions they have to dream up!

But back on topic: This is how revolutions start people.

When the folks at the top grow so out of touch with the rest of us that they believe a vast majority of us will applaud any stupid thing they do because we are told to, well that’s not history, that’s an Aesop fable or a fairytale.

The Emperor’s New Clothes, the Tortoise and the Hare, Pinocchio, Rumplestiltskin, Olibama and the 55 Thieves—the names all change but the moral—what’s now called a teachable moment—is the same: Boy, are these folks freaking dumb.

While a budget from this administration-- or foreign policy, tax policy, employment policy and fiscal policy-- remains more elusive than the MH370 flight, every time Obama makes a mess in his mess kit the media applauds.

In the later stages of the only Clinton administration that this country will ever see, when Monica’s unclean blue dress popped up, a stockbroker friend of mine, who was decidedly more liberal back then, said of the press’ treatment of Bill Clinton: “They’re setting this guy up to be the first president of the world.”

“Naw,” I answered. “The economy is good so no one cares.”

This time the economy is not good, but they could be setting Obama up to be the first king of the world.

It’ll be a fairytale ending: The fruit bat gets kissed and turns into king or something.

So maybe Obama get a chance to do something after all.

But don’t count on it.

I mean not the chance, but don’t count on him doing anything as king.

Kings don’t have morals or teachable moments.

Instead they have revolutions.
