Obama Thank You to Troops: We Lost Iraq Too

Oh, and they lost Iraq too.

You can add Iraq to the list of countries that Obama and Hillary screwed up.

And if you think it’s bad now, just wait.

The Bush administration will look like masters of clarity as Iraq descends into chaos.

At the very least they look competent in comparison.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), an Al Qaida inspired army, has captured key cities in Iraq and have said they intend on marching all the way to Baghdad.

“Fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) captured Baiji and Tikrit in their southward offensive,” says our contributor NightWatch, “The news reports suggest they met little resistance. They executed six government policemen they captured. One analyst reported at least 160 killed and over 100 wounded in fighting on 11 June. More ominously, television footage on Wednesday evening showed ISIL fighters patrolling the streets of Duluiyah, a small town just 60 miles north of Baghdad.”

The rate at which the insurgents are taking ground shouldn’t surprise anyone. But Hillary Clinton isn’t just anyone.

She wants to be president.

“Hillary Clinton says what's happening in Iraq is ‘a dreadful, deteriorating situation’ and she's surprised by the effectiveness of the al-Qaida-inspired group that has captured major cities there,” reports the Associated Press. “The former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential contender weighed in Thursday on the group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, that led this week's seizure of key Sunni-dominated cities in Iraq. The group has vowed to march to Baghdad.”

And they will fight for Baghdad because no one will stop them.

“Violent internal instability is centripetal,” says NightWatch “meaning that it seeks a center of power. Thus ISIL will attempt to capture the key government buildings in Baghdad. Once its fighters leave the predominantly Sunni areas [north of Baghdad], however, the fighting will get tougher. The Shiites of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad reportedly are arming again. Another fight for Baghdad seems unavoidable.”

Whether she’s surprised or just stupid, Clinton has to shoulder the blame, along with Obama, for their failure to secure a long-lasting peace in Iraq.

This scenario of a long civil war in Iraq was avoidable.

Obama and Clinton were given an Iraq that was stable.

That was the point of invading Iraq to begin with.

Now, liberal sophisticate doofuses, as Al Qaida inspired troops march on Baghdad, imposing Sharia law in a way that Osama bin Laden would approve of, tell me how 9/11 and Iraq aren’t related.

Say what you will, but when Bush was in charge Al Qaida was winning nowhere.

Now they seem to be winning everywhere.

While the US had a large military presence in Iraq there was an incentive by all sides to be cooperative. Since we have left, the loose tribal, regional and religious affiliations have slouched towards civil war—the same scenario that’s going on in the rest of the Arab states--none of which we invaded.

Similar civil wars are being waged across North Africa, with the exception of Egypt, where the army decided to thumb their nose at the Obama administration and do what’s best for the country and avoid a civil war by killing it at the outset.

And why where they able to do that?

Because we trained the Egyptian army to be competent, loyal and effective.

And patriotic.

There is a legitimate argument to be made that the regional wars in the Middle East are none of our business. It’s an immature argument that ignores the realities of national security in the age of terror bent to perverted technology.

And immature is exactly how I would describe both Obama and Hillary.

Both seek to be honored for accomplishments that the world outside of DC laughs at. They are powerful, not because of anything they have actually done, but because they are famous.

In history they’ll be infamous for how ignorant they are.

Forget Jimmy Carter; they make Neville Chamberlain look like a warlord.

Both Obama and Hillary have lost a lot that was hard fought by America and not just in the Middle East.

But, yeah, they lost Iraq too.
