It is 2008: time once again for the great American presidential debates. Well, at least time for their intensity levels to rise, and time for every word to be scrutinized. The young voter is being targeted more than ever this election season. Have you personally researched the current issues? Or are you parroting everyone else’s talking points? Are you afraid of being challenged or bringing the challenge? The presidential elections are no joke, and every American person should want to know the character of the person they are voting for and the policies that person represents. Prominent pundits, pastors, governors, representatives and senators race around the nation promoting the Democratic or Republican candidate of their choice. All ears and eyes are open, as Americans look to their leaders to prove how they will lead.

Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, former First Lady and presidential candidate, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) spoke at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Her goal was to unite Democratic voters and get them to support Barack Hussein Obama in his race for the presidency. Among other things, she explained to her audience that in her 40 years of political involvement there have been 10 presidential elections and only three of those 10 elections have been in favor of the Democratic Party. Of those three, two belonged to her husband, Bill Clinton. She went on to express the urgency of electing Barack Hussein Obama as president this fall, despite the many differences she may have with him. Anything but a Republican, and in this case, anything but John McCain. The crowd was digging it, her South Florida Democrats were ready to act on command. Upon reaching this point of connection with her audience, Sen. Clinton presumptuously bellowed from her podium, “republicans should hold a press conference, apologize to the country for what they have put us through and then decide they are not going to run.” The crowd roared with applause, and she was pleased.

Now, lets take a moment to analyze and discuss this concept that Sen. Hillary Clinton just birthed: She wants the Republicans to hand the 2008 election to the Democrats. This of course seems to be a sheer fantasy of hers. After all, who wouldn’t want to rule a nation unchallenged? Florida for Obama State Director, Steve Schale, described Sen. Clinton as, "an inspiring trailblazer.” Does she now want to “trailblaze” her way through the democratic election process unopposed? Sounds like a great idea, if you are a fan of communism, and an admirer of men like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. They made their dreams of supreme rule come true. Take look at Venezuela and Cuba: they have turned out alright. Haven’t they? They are dedicated leaders committed to the code of communism, inspired by the infamous lives of Stalin and Lenin. It is great that Hillary comes off as inspiring and ready to lead. But where does she want to take America? The average non-political person needs to know what this type of verbiage connotes. Once a political leader begins shuffling around the idea that another political party should submit to them, based on their personal desires to “change” the way the government relates to its citizens, that is when the citizen needs to start enforcing their liberties while they still have them. In America people have the freedom to vote, and civilly decide who will lead and best represent the country. Only when there are massive revolts and protests coming from the people does the government need to change and question its modes of governance. Sure, the competition may be beaten, over ruled and severely questioned. But never, in any case, should the competition be eliminated. Every good contestant longs for a worthy opponent.

Every four years the U.S. enters into a major competition with herself. Her people starkly align themselves behind the leaders they favor, and support those leaders as they go head to head challenging one another’s political capabilities. They do so in hopes of protecting, preserving and advancing this young nation as they see fit. Sen. John Sidney McCain III and Sen. Barack Hussein Obama are vying for the presidency this election year. These men have willingly and purposefully stepped into this race with strong intents to win. And when a person as influential and well-known as Sen. Hillary Clinton suggests that the Republicans forfeit their place in the competitive American political arena, she is asking them to submit. America has never submitted: Not to the British during the Revolutionary War, not to the Japanese after the bombings of Pearl Harbor, not to the torments of communism and certainly not to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. If America has not submitted before, then how can (and why is) Sen. Clinton asking at least half of the country to do so now? Due to the constant presence of underlying dogma, it is absolutely essential that the American people read deeper and understand what is being said and done during the fast times of presidential campaigning. After all, the free and prosperous American life depends on it.
