Many Americans who believe in our Founding Fathers, their vision, and the Republic they created were shocked by the news made recently by a far-left guest on “The View.”
On that program, a journalist fromThe Nation– a far-left publication – by the name of Elie Mystal called the United States Constitution: “Trash.”
Not surprisingly – because Liberals support Liberals -- the book this journalist was promoting as a vehicle to trash our Constitution is already aNew York TimesBestseller.
To those Americans who were rightfully offended or even outraged by such an abhorrent insult, I would only caution that you are late to the Party. The left, far-left, and certain anarchists groups have been going after our Founding Fathers, our founding documents, and even the 4th of July for quite some time.
On July 4, 2021, as I was preparing to submit a column singing the praises of our Founding Fathers and the Republic they created, I decided to take a quick spin through the liberal media sites. Talk about distressing and loathsome.
On the very birthday of our nation, various voices from the left were not only talking about banning the 4th of July, but eradicating our Founding Fathers from our history books and canceling them forever.
At that very instant, three thoughts flooded into my mind at once. The first being that on that very day, the working-class citizens in a number of the states in our United States of America were being battered by draconian edicts and lockdowns pushed by power-hungry politicians, “experts,” and unelected bureaucrats. Suddenly, basic American rights and freedoms were snatched away in a second in the name of an ever-shifting “emergency.”
The second thought which hit me was that these politicians, “experts” and bureaucrats were so quickly, effectively, and even brutally able to take away those God-given rights because the left and far-left now exercise the almost complete dominion of what I call the five major megaphones of our nation. Those being: The media, academia, entertainment, science, and medicine.
Precisely because of those ongoing realities, the last thought which struck me was: “What if the far-left is successful in sweeping our Founding Fathers into the dustbin of history and banning the 4th of July?”
If you think that unlikely, you have not been paying attention.
The absolute fact is that the left and far-left has been perfecting their “Cancelation-craft” for the last few years. How many good people have now lost their reputations, their voices, and their livelihoods because the “Woke” left targeted them for extinction?
None of this happens in a vacuum. The left and far-left generally always signal their socialist and Marxist intentions. For well over a decade now, their outright hate of our Founding Fathers and the documents they created has been dripping from their mouths like a poisonous venom.
LibertyisGod-given. No one knew that better than our Founding Fathers. They also knew that liberty is fleeting and can be taken at any time by those who most fear the people.
On July 4, 2021 I was bearing witness to such an alarming threat. Voices from the left were gleefully signaling their intent to cancel the men who created history’s longest running Constitutional Republic along with the day which celebrates the birth of the greatest nation the world has ever known.
Once again, the question screamed out in my mind: “What if they are successful?”
As they now have every advantage because of their domination of those five major megaphones of our nation, my very next thought was the quote attributed to Edmund Burke which stressed: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
With that prophetic quote echoing in my head, I picked up the phone, called my publisher, and described what I had just watched and read: The far-left was coming after Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, Benjamin Franklin, the rest of the 56 men who risked everything to create and sign The Declaration of Independence, and our other founding documents.
I stressed that we needed a book out as soon as possible which would honor the courage and sacrifice of THE 56; which would highlight their personal lessons on Liberty; and which would offer-up a template to preserve and protect our God-given liberties basedentirelyupon the blueprint left by our Founding Fathers. On the phone and with no proposal, the editor instantly agreed to publish just such a book.
Also not surprisingly, as was reported in most of the mainstream media last year, the far-left is working overtime to cancel my publisher. A publisher which in recent months published Miranda Devine’s national bestseller detailing the dirty secrets of Hunter Biden titled: “Laptop from Hell”; former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s inspirational memoir titled: “For Such a Time as This” and Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe’s explosive new book titled: “American Muckraker.”
The far-left is trying to crush conservative, libertarian, and faith-based thought and on the publishing front, has elevated my publisher to the top of the list for their vindictive form of extermination.
Knowing that and galvanized by my editor’s support for THE 56, I next reached out to several former high level government officials for their assistance in creating a foundation where any proceeds from the project would go toward preserving and protecting the names and reputations of our Founding Fathers.
They are not “trash.” The founding documents they created are not “trash.” But…unless all who believe in them speak and act as one, they, their vision, and those documents will be consigned to the far-left’s landfill never to be seen again.
