Gilded Reframe – WASHINGTON POST
Recall amid the pandemic there was the viral story of Dr. Anthony Fauci having funded the experiments on beagles, and as there was an uproar there was also a media pushback. At the time, the Washington Post attempted to run defense for the flawed doctor, implying the White Coat Waste Project — the animal rights group exposing the experiments — was little more than a partisan outfit looking to bring down Fauci.
Now, after FOIA requests produced documents showing the lab experiments and the connections to Fauci’s NIAID were legitimate, the Washington Post begins to walk back claims, despite many facts being present in 2021. It has been taken to task.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – POLITICO
Recommended
The press leaps into action any time a name crops up as a potential running mate for Trump, needing to scorch that individual as invalid. (Recall on Friday we had CNN hitting Senator J.D. Vance over tweets from eight years ago.) Now, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is being short-listed, and Politico leaps to the fore with this hit piece declaring him a fading star in both the GOP, as well as within his state.
Once the GOP’s hottest rising star, Glenn Youngkin is now failing to make his mark in both his party and his state. What happened?https://t.co/9uXW4sczyP

Only problem: He is one of the more popular GOP governors, with over 55% approval numbers, and his favorability is at +15%, or higher. Otherwise, a sharp assessment by Politico!

Anti-Social Media – MSNBC
You do realize their “success” invalidates them on this day?
One thing you can always count on is somebody in the media landscape who feels the need to find a way to dump all over a holiday the general public is celebrating. For Father’s Day, we have MSNBC to thank for this years most impacted contrarian dispatch. Taking a departure away from the practice in recent years of touting single mothers who were trying to lay claim to the patriarchal celebration, this year it gets even dumber.
In an op-ed, we are told that we should celebrate the men who lend full support for their partner to get an abortion. We are expected to applaud the act that quite literally runs in opposition to becoming a father.
MSNBC has gone full crazy. Father’s Day is now about abortion. This is really interesting because never have I heard the word “father” ever uttered by a pro-abortion activist. They generally downplay the importance of fathers, using them for their virtue signaling is fine though. pic.twitter.com/ZKYusLhsJR

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
The lack of an outcry here is deeply baffling.
For reasons that defy common sense, there is not much to be heard about a local reporter who is being coerced by the court system to divulge a confidential source. A small town newspaper released some police documents in a report, and a judge is pushing to have their source exposed, or they will face punishment. That these records should already be made public is not a consideration for the court.
Yet, we hear no outcry about this in the press as a direct threat to the profession. We also do not see the usual propping up of local journalism, that romanticized notion many pundits love to lean upon. Possibly this is all due to The Tennessee Star being a conservative news outlet.
A reporter faces jail time unless he gives up a source at a hearing set Monday. As of Friday COB, the ct of appeals has not addressed his emergency motion to stay.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC
We mean…literally, the OPPOSITE is what is taking place.
It must be such a relief to be a primetime news network host and not be beholden to facts and data when making pronouncements. Alex Wagner was clearly trying to pre-emptively explain away any troubles exhibited by Biden during his upcoming debate with Donald Trump, but she does so in such a laughably wrong fashion you have to wonder how she earned her slot in the nighttime schedule.
To get Joe to agree to the debate, his handlers imposed a laundry list of demands and restrictions to be applied to the process, in effect lowering the bar for President Silver Alert to participate. Alex tries to tell us that Biden faces an unfair debate because the bar is somehow higher for him…what?!
HAHAHAHA HOLY SMOKES

Legalized Press-titution – CBS NEWS
We’re sorry, could you swoon a little more quietly, we are trying to conduct research…
On “CBS Sunday Morning,” there was an interview with Secretary Pete, in what is seen as a glowing profile piece.
Pete Buttigieg, Navy vet, former mayor, and Secretary of Transportation, now embraces his role as "Papa." He and husband Chasten share their journey to parenting twins Penelope and Gus. https://t.co/tOixuTCho2 pic.twitter.com/FllHAEQLA5
— CBS Sunday Morning 🌞 (@CBSSunday) June 16, 2024
Reporter Jon Vigliotti is positively gushing throughout the fawning interview, including positioning Secretary Pete for the White House, despite his track record of not having a defined track record:
Is there a world where you see Penelope and Gus living in the White House in 2029?
Just…cringe…
