Both Kinds Of Standards – NBC NEWS
- Chuckles has more anger at the proof of Biden wrongdoing than at the manufactured attacks on Trump.
Chuck Todd is really bothered that more evidence is coming out about the various squirrely things President Biden has been involved in, including his involvement in his son Hunter’s dealings abroad. In this exchange with Congressman Chris Coons, the two of them bring up their issues with the current investigation, and their complaints are laughably inept.
Coons brings up the fact that this investigation has gone on for years without a shred of evidence of wrongdoing turning up. This, despite the current House investigations and whistleblowers revealing piles of evidence. Then Todd actually says, “House Repubs are going to accuse him whether they have the evidence or not.” So, he will complain about the charges, even though they DO have evidence?
But these two set all of this up as if everyone has forgotten about the years we watched the evidence-free Russian collusion accusations from these same cement-head journalists.

Also, note Chuck mentioning Biden might need to come forward and declare he had no involvement in Hunter’s deals; that will loom large in the next entry.
NBC’s @ChuckTodd frets: “House Repubs are going to accuse him whether they have the evidence or not, and they may have an information ecosystem that helps amplify it to a point where you don’t think he needs to, ‘hey...just so you know, I don’t do business with my son.’” #MTP pic.twitter.com/FBqZswkcQ3

Presentation Paradox – THE NEW YORK TIMES
- Ah, so even though he has never done these things, we knew all along he was doing these things. Gotcha.
You know that the facts are in the process of unraveling the media narratives when you see the press injuring themselves as they contort their stories to protect the president.
Chuck Todd should have read The New York Times, because as he calls for Biden to come out and again declare that he never was involved in Hunter’s shenanigans, the paper says otherwise. Sort of.
Writing at The Times, Luke Broadwater is now molding a new interpretation of events. It seems President Joe has always been known to have worked with his kid’s business partners.
It has long been known that the elder Mr. Biden at times interacted with his son’s business partners.
Uh, we are sorry, but - it has?! We seem to recall Joe Biden denying any such involvement with his son’s dealings - since at least 2019. In fact, we have seen it reported in The Times. Heck, we read it – in this very same article!
In 2019, Mr. Biden also repeatedly said he had “never discussed” and had “never spoken to” Hunter Biden about his business dealings.
So now we have to believe Joe dealt with Hunter’s contacts, but was not discussing things with his own son, and somehow was not involved in shaking down foreign entities for a Big Guy payout. The only way any of this is plausible is if Joe has been having his brain cloud issues years longer than anyone admits to, but otherwise, no sale.
Democratic Custodial Services – MSNBC
- We are unclear how bereavement excuses away illegal activity.
Another sign of how the emerging evidence is causing problems for Biden is how many defensive items are thrown at the wall to see if anything sticks. For weeks, we have heard that somehow Hunter’s antics should somehow be excused because he was in the throes of drug addiction. Now, as more proof of his Father being involved is shown, Joe’s late son is being brought out as a shield from criticism. In pathetic fashion, Democrat Dan Goldman came out this weekend to say the passing of Beau Biden led Joe to have an impaired moral compass, or something.
Democrat Dan Goldman now claiming Beau Biden's cancer and death is why Hunter, Devon Archer and Joe Biden were in close communication. That and the weather. Shameless.

Coming off as even more pathetic, on “Morning Joe,” Jonathan Lemire unspools every defense possible that mourning the death of Beau excuses anything that took place at this time.
Morning Joe defends Biden & Hunter's working relationship:@Lemire: "We should put this in context; this is the time when Beau Biden, the president’s other son, was ill & dying & then passed away. So perhaps he wasn’t as attentive to what he should have been"@Eugene_Robinson:… pic.twitter.com/N47jSklbrC

1st Amendment Strike Force – THE BULWARK
- I’m pretty sure there is a term for the third-world practice of a government targeting a news outlet.
Bill Kristol is an ardent anti-fascism advocate. At least, that is what his past words have indicated. He has been free to label the actions and character of others as leaning towards that totalitarian movement.
This is why it was a touch confounding to see him coming forward and proudly proclaiming that he is lobbying for the FCC to pull the broadcast licensing rights from Fox News. Now, full disclosure - we here at RFTH did not acquire a Master's Degree in Political Science, yet we are fairly certain that compelling the government to silence a news outlet trends rather close to that very accursed form of governance, Bill.
Honored to join former FCC Commissioner Ervin Duggan, former senior NewsCorp executive @BoulderPreston, and the Media and Democracy Project (@MAD_Democracy), in objecting to the broadcast license renewal for FOX 29 in light of the Dominion adjudication.https://t.co/Ilkl9IC4NV

Glossary Over Things – META / THREADS
- There is far less excitable coverage of the new social platform just weeks later.
Over at Business Insider, they outline some uncomfortable details about the sparkling new social platform, Threads, Mark Zuckerberg’s direct assault on Twitter. It turns out that all the hype about people flooding onto the new service has given way to apathy, and many of those new subscribers are already abandoning the site.
As a result, there are already technical decisions being made to alleviate this flight issue.
Among the solutions: adding more features and functions, as well as having cross-linked functions with other Meta sites like Facebook and Instagram.
Give these guys at least a little credit in that they do not come out and admit loudly that addiction to their tech is what they are seeking to accomplish.
Threads is working on “obvious missing features” such as trending topics, hashtags, translations, the ability to view likes, and a “following” feed that only shows posts from users you know. But Meta’s chief product officer, Chris Cox,added that Meta is also working on “retention-driving hooks” to encourage users to return to the app.
Over half the people who signed up for Threads have stopped using it already, prompting Mark Zuckerberg to push for 'hooks' to entice users, report says https://t.co/YD5mmQcW7Q
