'Resurrection iWitness' iPad app released
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--LifeWay Christian Resources has released "Resurrection iWitness," an iPad app, into Apple's App Store.

Aaron Linne, executive producer of digital marketing for LifeWay's B&H Publishing Group, said the interactive experience takes people through the collection of evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The background for the app comes from author and designer Doug Powell who previously published the Holman Quick Source Guide to Christian Apologetics.

"This app offers more than just text on a page," Linne said. "It is a tactile, sensory exploratory experience where users discover clues about the resurrection and alternative theories surrounding the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

The Resurrection iWitness app was "designed for the rising generation to explore information in their native experience," Linne said. The app encourages users to engage seven theories of Christ's resurrection and draws from extra-biblical sources including The Gospel of Barnabas, Toledoth Jesu and the Quran.

The app challenges users "to scientifically look at the evidence presented and decide for themselves after taking an investigative journalistic approach to discover the truth about Christ," Linne said.

The app is "a great plug-and-play resource," he said, for people to talk about the resurrection "across a coffee table or on a big-screen church presentation."

The Resurrection iWitness iPad app, available in iTunes for $9.99, adds to LifeWay's growing catalog of more than 20 other apps designed for Apple, Android and Xbox.
