Joe Biden’s shameless disregard for our national sovereignty has caused lasting damage to the United States. Not satisfied with record-high inflation, rampant crime, and foreign policy disasters, the Biden administration has surrendered our Southern Border and consistently prioritized illegal immigrants over American citizens. A recent DHS court filing confirms this current border crisis is the worst in modern history. In April alone, the border patrol encountered 234,088 migrants and released 117,989 back into our country. While 113,248 were removed via Title 42, liberals have their sights set on rolling back that enforcement tool. The Trump-era pandemic policy is scheduled to be terminated at the end of this month pending a court challenge. Taking a step back, it is important to note that the border patrol only encounters a minority of all illegal border crossers, with many estimates as low as 10 percent. While often not acknowledged by the left, illegal immigration is not just unfair to Americans, but also comes at the expense of legal immigrants who followed the law and paid their dues to become citizens the right way. Demanding that our government secure our border and stop illegal entries is not radical or racist, it is common sense.
Unfortunately, the crisis is not contained to illegal immigrants breaking our laws without consequence. Under the failed presidency of Joe Biden, communities have been flooded with drug trafficking and human trafficking. Fentanyl, often manufactured in China and smuggled across the border by the cartel, is the leading cause of death for adults aged 18-45. This statistic, however saddening, is a perfect illustration of the depth of the border crisis. Biden and the Democrats’ surrender to the cartels has ravaged cities and towns across America with an unending cycle of death and addiction. Now, every state is truly a border state. The Democrats do not apologize for their dereliction of duty. Instead, they are even content prioritizing illegal immigrants over the citizens they were elected to represent. Notably, the Biden administration has provided illegals with supplies such as pallets of baby formula amid a nationwide shortage. Democrats seem intent on destroying our nation from within. In November, “We the People” must send a message with a massive red wave of America First fighters who will stand up for our own citizens and national interests for a change.

In my home state, Arizonans cannot afford the crisis to worsen. With out-of-control inflation, water insecurity, and a crippling infrastructure, the U.S. government needs to stop prioritizing the needs of the global community. We simply cannot afford to take care of the entire world, which should also be common sense. Joe Biden halted the border wall construction and depleted our border patrol agents with vaccine mandates. Now, Americans are facing the largest influx of illegal immigrants this nation has ever witnessed. Although feckless politicians in Washington, D.C., makes lame excuses for the situation, border security takes a backseat to foreign aid. If we took the recently authorized $40 billion to Ukraine and instead allocated it to the border, we could build the wall and fund our border patrol for several years. However, Democrats such as Tom O’Halleran would rather protect the Ukrainian border than our own. Tom is unserious about fixing the crisis at the border and uninterested in putting Arizonans first.
To begin to reverse the damage the Biden administration has caused, we desperately need a return to sanity. That requires a return to the effective border policies of President Trump. To begin that process, Republicans must regain control of Congress in the midterm elections. Although Biden will likely use his executive authority to veto most meaningful legislation, a GOP-controlled legislature will provide the opportunity to investigate bad actors such as DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. America First leadership will also give U.S. citizens the leverage needed to put a check on both the incompetence and gross negligence of the current administration. As your next Congressman from Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, I will be a reliable, unwavering vote to increase funding for the border patrol and finish the wall.
