What the Longer Version of Jimmy Kimmel's Pence PPE Video Didn't Show You

UPDATE: Behold Kimmel's non-apology, and Sen. Ted Cruz's response.

ORIGINAL POST

Jimmy Kimmel is so bent on catching the Trump administration in embarrassing PR stunts, that he's now manufacturing them. His team released a new video on Friday that showed Vice President Mike Pence joking about wanting to carry empty boxes of PPE into a clinic "for the cameras." Kimmel told his audience that it was just all a big PR stunt.

"A big box of nothing, delivering another box of nothing," Kimmel shared on Twitter, before deleting it.

Some other liberals on social media also posted Kimmel's deceptively edited video of Pence delivering the PPE.

Of course, as always, there's a longer, unedited version of the story. If you play more of the footage, you see that Pence was clearly making a joke and it even got a rise out of the health care workers. He wasn't serious about the camera stunt and immediately moved the dolly out of the way and closed the car door and moves on to other work.

See the "non-kimmelized version" below.

But we know which narrative the media will run with.

Many agree that Vice President Mike Pence has been a formidable anchor for the White House coronavirus task force, delivering daily updates with calm and poise. He's met with health care workers and lawmakers all across the country, yet all we'll be hearing about for weeks is this doctored video and he didn't wear that dang mask.
