Trump Tells Ex-Royals Harry and Meghan to Pay Their Own Security Protection

Prince Harry's royal blood may have earned him and his wife Meghan a free ride in England, but now that the couple is reportedly living in the United States, the taxpayers in this country won't be responsible for their personal security protection. At least that's the sentiment behind President Trump's tweet on Sunday, which prompted by reports that the ex-royals are now living in Los Angeles.

In a Fox News interview, the president described the couple's royal exit as an unfortunate event for Queen Elizabeth II.

“I don't want to get into the whole thing, but I just have such respect for the Queen. I don't think this should be happening to her. I think it's sad. She's a great woman. She's never made a mistake. If you look, I mean, she's had, like, a flawless time," the president said.

Meghan Markel supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, calling Donald Trump "divisive" and "misogynistic." She threatened to move to Canada if Trump won the 2016 presidential election, but ended up moving to England instead.

The couple announced they would be stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in part to work on becoming financially independent. Before the Wuhan coronavirus, the couple must have been attracted to the strong American economy under President Trump. What better way for them to practice financial independence than to pay for their personal security protection?
