At least one person was still watching the House Judiciary Committee debate on articles of impeachment as it rolled into the evening on Thursday. As Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) derided the Democrat-led impeachment as the "most corrupt, rigged railroad job" she's seen in her entire life, actress and singer Bette Midler took to Twitter to accuse Rep. Lesko of "grandstanding bigtime."
Midler also accused the president of being installed by Russia and tweeted that maybe Richard Nixon wasn't a crook but Trump really is.
Now the gal, Debbie Lesko, R, Arizona, is grandstanding bigtime!! Blame the Dems, don't blame the criminal in the WH. His own actions, his own words, have led him to this day. He's a fake, installed by Russia. Maybe Richard Nixon was "not a crook". But this guy really is.

Rep. Lesko responded to the wind-beneath-your-wings singer on Twitter, telling the actress it "looks like the 'wind beneath your wings' has turned into hot air."
Hey gal, looks like the “wind beneath your wings” has turned into hot air. Unlike Nixon, no crimes committed by Trump. Democrats just acting like "Ruthless People." https://t.co/Byq6ElxoOH

Rep. Lesko and her fellow Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have criticized Democrats for introducing two vague, amorphous articles of impeachment against President Trump, noting that in previous impeachments presidents were accused of committing specific high crimes and misdemeanors.
The House Judiciary Committee is expected to soon send the two articles of impeachment to the House floor for a vote.
