LISTEN: CA Radio Host Recounts a Recent Interaction With Harris... and the Signs Her Campaign Was Doomed

When Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) announced her John Kobylt, one of the co-hosts of the John and Ken Show on KFI AM640 in Los Angeles, John Kobylt recounted a recent interaction he had with her in a local grocery store. According to the talk radio host, it was apparent that Harris' campaign was flopping.

"She was buying a few random groceries at a westside grocery store. I was there and she was at the register in front of me and my checker looked at her and said, 'Hey, good luck with everything. I hope you win.' And she looked at him with this pained, sad expression on her face. She was trying to grin through the pain. And she said, 'Just taking it day-by-day, you know. Just gotta keep going.'"

"And she had the look of defeat. She had the stench of defeat on her. Yes, you could smell her loss from the next register," Kobylt explained. "She walked slowly and lonely all by herself, clutching her bag of meager groceries, headed into the darkness, the political darkness, never to return."

Kobylt's co-host, Ken Chiampou, brought up a good point: when a presidential candidate is grocery shopping, by herself, without any kind of staffers by her side, that's not a good sign.

"Yeah, you gotta believe that when you see them and there's no handlers around and she's buying her own groceries, the campaign is on its last legs," Chiampou said. "There's no money to even give her assistants."

"She was walking in the dark, head down, disappearing into the distance," Kobylt said. "The file mile she walked."

When Harris' campaign ended, it wasn't a surprise. They recently laid off a number of staffers located at the campaign's headquarters in Baltimore. And not long after that one of Harris' top staffers quit over how the staff was treated and the lack of a vision moving forward. Harris' team was spending money left and right but they couldn't get a grasp on things. Kobylt's story sounds like a presidential contender who knows she can't possibly make it. And it sounds like she was contemplating suspending her campaign then.
