WATCH: Ocasio-Cortez Crashes and Burns During Sanders Rally in Iowa

Progressive darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appeared at a rally for 2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday.

In typical AOC fashion, the Congresswoman used her Instagram story to show a "behind-the-scenes" look at what it's like before she went on stage with Sanders. It's the typical appeal she makes to her 20-something fan base.

But apparently Ocasio-Cortez is so ready "to rally" that the cat caught her tongue...literally.

"So here’s the deal. I, you know, and what it also — and so the deal is — sorry. And here’s the deal. The deal — I’m like, I got so much going on in my mind because I’m just talking to you all this evening," she said, clearly struggling for words.

"I was, like, trying to prepare some remarks on the plans, I was like, I’m just going to talk to them, okay," she said, clearly referencing Sanders' various controversial plans, like his newly-released immigration plan.

"And so here’s the deal: is that we have to stitch ourselves together," AOC explained. "We have to connect ourselves to one another. I came here today from the Bronx and the thing is is that our destinies are tied and there’s so many folks that want to say what do Iowans believe, what do New Yorkers believe, what do — “

What makes this ordeal so sad is that young people look up to her. She's their voice of reason. They feel as though she's standing up to the big bad guys in Washington, D.C. Even though Ocasio-Cortez is a freshman Congresswoman, she has had a profound impact on American politics in a short period of time. She's responsible for bringing the Green New Deal to the forefront of the political conversation. She's continually pushed for other controversial plans, like abolishing ICE and implementing Medicare for All.

If AOC is such a die-hard activist turned politician, why is "so much going through her head" that she can't explain what she believes? Why is it so hard for her to explain Bernie's policies, you know, the ones she's endorsed? Is it because she hasn't read them or because she knows they're so outlandish that she can't even defend them?

Either way, this moment is a definite snippet into the people who are leading the Democratic Party. Scary, isn't it?
