Schumer Urging Dems to Oppose Gorsuch

UPDATE: Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), who is considered a moderate Democrat, is also a no. Pundits note that may not be the best idea considering he represents a state that voted for Trump in November.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is a "no" on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. He is urging his Democratic colleagues to follow his lead and launch a filibuster to prevent him from turning the court too far to the right.

“After careful deliberation I have concluded that I cannot support Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court,” he said on the Senate floor.

Other Democrats, however, have taken a more reasonable approach to Gorsuch's nomination, noting he at least deserves an up-or-down vote.

So far, little dirt has been dug up on him in his confirmation hearings - despite desperate attempts.

Gorsuch will need to earn 60 votes to make it to the bench, Schumer said.
