Trump Breaks Record For Votes Received by a Republican Presidential Candidate

Even though President-elect Donald Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton, he managed to not only win the Electoral College handily, but also broke a record for the number of votes received by a Republican presidential candidate.

With more than 2 million votes still left to count, at 62,041,367 votes, Trump has managed to surpass George W. Bush’s previous record of slightly more than 62 million. President Obama set the overall record in 2008 with more than 69 million votes.
