In case you missed it, Hillary Clinton had the audacity to claim she never told the grieving families of our four fallen diplomats in Benghazi that the September 11, 2012 attack had occurred as a result of a YouTube video. This was in direct contradiction to the recollections of Tyrone Woods’ father, Sean Smith’s mother and uncle, and Glen Doherty’s sister, who all say Clinton told them the tragedy occurred because of an Internet video. Of course, we now know the tragedy was a premeditated terror attack.
Clinton’s latest defense has reignited the anger felt by the victims’ families. Glen Doherty’s sister Kate Quigley is appalled by Clinton’s continuing dishonesty and lack of accountability.
“She knows that she knew what happened that day and she wasn’t truthful,” Kate Quigley said on Boston Herald Radio’s “Morning Meeting” show yesterday. “This is a woman that will do and say anything to get what she wants. I have very little respect for her. I know what she said to me and she can say all day long that she didn’t say it. That’s her cross to bear.”
I think it’s safe to say these family members' memories of what Clinton told them was accurate, considering the extent of the tragedy. A conversation with the Secretary of State about the death of your loved one is something you’re not soon to forget.
Yet, here we have Clinton denying such a conversation ever took place.
