Democrat on Ted Cruz: "I Don't Think He Should Be Defined As A Hispanic"

Disgraced former Gov. Bill Richardson (D.-N.M.) had some sharp words for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz today on an interview with This Week with ABC News, saying that he doesn't think Sen. Cruz "should be defined as a Hispanic."

The full interview is above, in which the remark comes during the third question.

Sen. Cruz' father was Cuban and immigrated to the United States during the Cuban Revolution. Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas history.

Moments before saying that Sen. Cruz' heritage doesn't count for minority status, Richardson said that his main problem with Sen. Cruz is the senator's fiery nature, Richardson said that, in politics, "insulting people is not the way to go."
