Yeah, and Presidents set the agenda for the country and have tremendous power to influence Congress and veto bills they find irresponsible. The buck stops with them.
(Aside from which, as I mentioned in my explanation of the numbers, I was not engaging in a complex explanation regarding cost of policies that originated in one party vs. the other that stretched through multiple administrations (such as Vietnam spending [a cost originating with a Democrat that spread through a Republican administration] and Iraq/Afghanistan [a cost originating with a Republican administration that...

"It comes as no surprise, therefore, to see that the Republicans have been such profligate spenders. Maybe it IS time to elect a bloody Libertarian."
Like I've said elsewhere on these boards, my vote will go to the candidate that promises to do the most to make government do the least. I haven't run into any candidates like that yet...

Thats funny. In case you haven't noticed, we have barely begun to create jobs. You must be talking about the jobs "saved" which is bogus.
If your delusions include 900,000 jobs a month, then we know you are nuts for sure.

Article 1, Section. 7. "All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives;"
Dems controlled the House with over 2/3 majorities during FDR's reign of terror, and then returned to rule the House between '54-'95. Own it.
Conservatives and classic liberals are taking back control of the GOP from the Progressives wherever possible, and leaning heavily on those Republicans who wish to compromise with the Socialists. There won't be much need for a Third Party here in a few election cycles.
Omt, the bureaucracy is more entrenched than any elected official. Which party enjoys the favor of public employee unions again?

hiring bridge/road workers and census workers would up the employment figures. But it will fall flat at the end of this year without real private sector growth.
Our gov't is buying time for the Nov election.

I was going to point out something similar, but was too lazy to do the work.
Are your figures indexed for inflation?
While government spending itself is a huge problem, distorting the price information that entrepreneurs use to determine what goods and services are demanded, it is the deficit spending of government that brings us to a point of a $13 trillion debt.
Which is why, as you state, it is important to elect libertarian (small-"l") to Congress. But even successfully doing that would only buy us some time. Most people like their government freebies.
A change in the ideas and culture of society would be a more lasting benefit than mere capture of governmental office.

We owe it ALLLLLLLLL to you miserable mismanagers.
Here's a bit of news:
Contrary to Scott Brown's claim that the stimulus - you know, the bill that was needed to counter Bush/GOP's Great Depression Part Deux- hadn't created "one new job", it would seem that he LIED or was just too stupid not to bloviate unwittingly:
The $800 billion U.S. stimulus package has had a slightly bigger effect on the U.S. economy than was projected when it was passed more than a year ago, the Congressional Budget Office estimated Tuesday.
Through the first quarter of 2010, the stimulus boosted employment by an estimated 1.3 million to 2.8 million jobs, about a quarter or half million more than projected. Gross domestic product was 1.7...

Will any of you deal with it?
And remember, the GOP started out as the party of centralization, when, under "Honest Abe" Lincoln and then later under the "Radical Republicans", it destroyed the old constitutional order. It did so by destroying states' rights, by upsetting the delicate balance of federalism crafted by the Framers. It transferred massive amounts of political power to DC (and economic power to the Northeast), shoving the 14th Amendment down the throats of the states (mainly the Southern states; and probably illegally), among other things.
All that simply paved the way for future abuses on the part of the federal government. As conservative political philosopher Frank Meyer put it, "Were it not for the...

You left out a couple important facts. Using your figures: GWBush (R): 4,368,453,995,297.06
Obama (D): 1,885,104,106,599.26. After GWBush (R) you should have said during 8 years. After Obama (D) you should have put after 1 year in office.

Alright, let’s get more specific then.
Limiting this strictly to presidents and ignoring other economic factors, such as policies that continued beyond their administrations, we will look only at the starting fiscal years they were elected and ending with the fiscal year they last served office in, so these numbers are still ballpark figures, but it should provide enough evidence to dispel the notion of fiscal conservative, trustworthy Republicans.
Starting with FDR:
FDR (D): 236,143,514,849
Truman (D): 7,388,874,228.64
Eisenhower (R): 20,259,699,209.8
Kennedy (D): 16,888,694,386.36
LBJ (D): 41,718,773,429.47
Nixon (R): 121,339,561,890.14
Ford (R): 145,373,184,268.45
Carter (D): ...

"once again like to point out that about 11,000,000,000,000 of that was done under Republican governance. "
really???
so carter and clinton were republicans????
both Bushes hardly count as republicans as well.
and who controls congress?
who has controlled it longer??
the larger issue is politicians not following the US Constitution. they are using our money to buy votes, at least 66% of federal spending is 100% unconstitutional.

And I will bet my house that if you elect Republicans back to the majority, this will continue unabated.

I just cannot understand why all the dems are pro fundamentally destroying America from within. Did they run as socialists, communists and marxists and still get elected? Did they say they would try their best to tear up the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Did they say they would cede the legislative and judicial branches of government to the executive branch? I just cannot see the grass root democrats doing this willingly and eyes wide open.
Just as an aside, while doing a crossword today one of the entries was a past despot. The answer was czar. Obama has made that answer wrong because he has dozens of unvetted czars entrenched within our own government to aid in the fundamental destruction of our country as we know it.

$13,000,000,000,000 isn't enough debt to convince the left the stimulus plans are NOT working??
Just wondering lib's - how much does it take before you say stop? How high will unemployment go before you get it?? How much HC rationing? How much should we pay for fuel? What amount will convince you of the economic disaster BHO is creating? When things "change" drastically and you have no job, no home, no food, and no "hope"?

Again Moody's warns that we will lose our AAA rating. How many more warnings before this becomes reality. What a sad state our country is in. All part of the master plan to collapse the economy and make this country over in the image that the lefty loons believe will be Utopia.

When will congress stop this idiot! They are responsible for approving spending. We are soon to lose our AAA rating. Who would ever have imagined America being a debtor nation - economically a third world country.
Remember November, register to vote, vote in the primaries, and especially vote in November. It is vital for the survival of our beloved America which we love fundamentally as she was.

All these things have come out of his mouth. WHY? We must take back OUR country ASAP! Vote ALL his lap dogs out. Get rid of those who haven`t had our country`s best interest in their heart,(only getting more money and power). Republicans as well as Democrats! Please let`s steer this country out of the path it`s taking! Vote THEM OUT!
