Three House Republicans have ignored their caucus' ban on requesting earmarks this year.
Rep. Joseph Cao, R-La.,
has requested projects totaling more than $500 million for his district.
In addition,
Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska
, and
Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas
, have also requested millions of dollars worth of earmarks despite the party's moratorium.

Put lots of pork/ear marks into a bill for his district. And then loudly proclaim that he voted against the bill.
Gets the cash while denying that he voted for it. Nice trick for such a "principled" man.

REMEMBER ALL (D)'s and (R)'s who flagrantly, and self-servingly VOTED IN FAVOR of:
"Antagonizing-Intimidating-Manipulating" - "Disrupting-Dismantling-Defeating" and DESTROYING AMERICA
PLEASE - TURN AWAY from these... please

is that they are antipatriotic crooks that manipulate the government to enrich themselves and continue their reign of corruption. the fact that they are destroying the nation they parasitize is of no consequence to them.
the problem with republicans: they behave like democrats.

on us when he changed the parliamentary rules to pass his 'deformed' bill of health.
If americans want to win this gangsta fight - they can't fight with the constitution and scruples. When the gangsta in chief/mullah in chief shreds the constitution then his opponents can't use that as 'their defense' to defeat his transformational agenda.
make no mistake - like all gangstas find out - there is no honor among thieves.
the mullah's sealed documents will be unsealed and then his house of cards will begin to unravel into retirment. In the meantime - more americans are getting a clue about this document sealing presdient.

How can someone claim to be fiscally conservative and then work to secure millions in earmarks to build recreational fishing piers for his constituents?! He may be principled on some things, but cutting earmarks ain't one of 'em.

Hi Guys--Sorry about that. Not sure what happened to the link to Paul's earmark requests, but I've fixed it--it should work now!

Paul votes against every bill that has an earmark. He puts in earmarks to the bill before it can be voted on, and his is the principled and pragmatic stand. He has been voting against all earmarks longer than any other member of congress. If all congressmen would take Paul's stance there would be no earmarks.

don't you follow Ron Paul? He says, "IF everyone else is going to do it, I'm going to take earmarks as well. My district deserves money as much as the rest of Texas." or words to that effect.
He says he doesn't really believe in earmarks, per se, but he doesn't want his constituents to go without while others are "getting theirs." It's a too-common feeling among the otherwise fiscally sound thinkers among Republican reps.

The reality is that more than $100 billion has been pumped into Louisiana and it has all gone down a rat hole. I was part of the team that went in after Katrina to help put together new commercial development financing so that jobs, housing and infrastructure could be built.
They weren't interested. They wanted more FEMA checks. They wanted to sit on their behinds and be paid taxpayer money and do nothing to change their circumstances and the William Jeffersons, Ray Nagins and other race-baiters moved in and focused on being as outraged as possible.
It's all a scam. They get taxpayer money and then the money disappears into a sinkhole of corruption.

To assume Cao's loss is unacceptable. We should put another Republican candidate in his place during the primaries.

Young is a RINO Pub, Cao will lose in a tough Dem district anyhow, and Ron Paul is a real mystery. Not bad though in a House Pub of some 170 plus reps. I wonder how many Dems will be taking earmarks????? Paul is a libertarian and one who is so outlier that who knows what he will do?

It just goes to show you that there are a&&es in every group.
Young has always been an earmarks hog. Cao is a RINO of The First Water -- I'd not be surprised to see him shift to democrat IOT keep his NOLA seat.
Ron Paul must want something . . . maybe a building with his name on it, or some such, like so many other "lawmakers."

Cao and Young I understand. Ron Paul!? I thought he was Mr. Constitution. Might someone tell me why he thinks earmark requests aren't an abuse of legislative power? That seems completely out of character for him.
