We’re back. It’s episode number 48. The government has been re-opened, much to our dismay, and the Trump presidency is coming off its worst loss thus far. He caved. There’s no way around it. We have a continuing resolution funding the government through February 15, and Trump vows to use his emergency powers if a border security deal isn’t hashed out by then. We could have another government shutdown. Until then, the State of the Union is back on for February 5.

On top of that mess on the Hill, we have Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a 2020 candidate, calling for free college for everyone and the end of private health insurance. She’s gunning to be the Left’s candidate for this cycle, but she’s bound to have competition once the entire 2020 clown car is primed and ready to go. Once they start clawing each other’s eyes out, you’ll see the crazy come full circle.

Within the Democratic leadership, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appear to be trying to keep the party on the left-of-center tilt, but you can’t control these folks—the Ocasio-Cortez-Harris-Tlaib wing that is unhinged, energetic and have zero qualms shooting inside the ship to advance their agenda. Yet, before Democrats’ potential civil war erupts, they have to deal with former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz who is mulling a 2020 run as an independent centrist. He’s torched Harris’ health care proposal, calling "Medicare for All" un-American. Schultz would split the vote, help Trump, and thrust the Left back into another meltdown. Please, Howard. RUN! Another Democrat that’s also considering a 2020 run is former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder.

In other news, former Arizona Senator and total squish Jeff Flake has landed a contributor gig at CBS News. He’s not going to challenge Trump in 2020 because he’s finally figured out that everyone on the Right hates him. He proved to be nothing but cancer in his final days in office. Speaking of cancer, Israel may have discovered a cure for it. It’ll be complete within the year they say.

Is liberalism cancer?

Until then, see you on Thursday, folks.
