Tim Russert's Death is a Shock

Tim Russert's Death is a Shock

It doesn't seem real.  Tim Russert's death comes as a shock.

Father's day is coming up, and I can't help but reflect on the fact that my dad passed away at about the same age as Tim.  And just like Tim, my father looked great, and seemed to be in pretty good health.

Tim was very proud of his dad and his son.  It will take them a long time to get over the shock of this.  At the end of the day, I think it's better to have a loved-one leave without any suffering.  But the downside is that it is a tremendous shock to have someone die without there being any clues that their time is limited, or thoughts that you should say your last goodbyes ...

Note:  I pulled down my initial post about this -- which was merely reporting the breaking news.  Unfortunately, in doing that, I accidentally pulled down the comments, as well.  My apologies for that.  Please feel free to re-post them here ...
