Out of the Public Eye: Hillary Clinton Attends Only Private Fundraisers for Florida Gov Candidate Andrew Gillum

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is fundraising at some private events for far-left Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum Tuesday.

The Palm Beach Post notes that “with tickets ranging from $250 to $5,000, a Hillary Clinton fundraiser for Andrew Gillum in Palm Beach County on Tuesday is a bargain compared to her $10,000-and-up dinner with the Democratic gubernatorial nominee later in the day in Miami.”

Despite Gillum’s enthusiastic public announcement regarding his plans to campaign with Clinton on social media in September, he is not scheduled to campaign publicly with her.

John Morgan, an Orlando trial lawyer and Democratic donor who raised $3 million for Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, told Politico the reasoning behind keeping Hillary out of the spotlight.

“Hillary would be best used in private fundraising with those that love her,” Morgan said. “A picture with her would be like the Charlie Crist hug with Obama. Game. Set. Match. I am sad to say this as I worked so hard for her.”

In contrast, former vice president Joe Biden appeared prominently at a rally Monday to campaign for Gillum.

“Joe Biden evokes favorable feelings from all sides. He is our Uncle Joe,” Morgan explained to Politico. “Nobody wants to lock him up. He is Everyman.”

Gillum, the Mayor of Tallahassee, received a key boost from Clinton’s 2016 Democratic presidential primary rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) earlier this year. He campaigned alongside Sanders in the weeks leading up to his gubernatorial Democratic primary win.

Gillum advocates far-left positions such as abolishing ICE and establishing Medicare for All.

The latest polling has Gillum with a razor-thin 1 point lead over his Republican, Trump-backed rival Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
