Dead Heat in Crucial Connecticut Senate Race

Polling out this week indicates a close race between Republican Linda McMahon and Democrat Chris Murphy in the race to represent Connecticut in the U.S. Senate. Republicans are hoping to pick up a seat in deep blue territory.

The Quinnipiac poll released Thursday showed McMahon in the lead, 48-47, which would be a huge pick-up for McMahon. Polling has shown McMahon consistently behind but climbing over the past few months. All four polls released since August have shown McMahon and Murphy within three points of each other.

McMahon's loss to Richard Blumenthal in the 2010 election cycle seems to have strengthened her. The campaign has been efficiently run and has been making a lot of the right moves this time around.

On Sunday morning at 11AM, McMahon will debate Murphy on local CBS affiliate WFSB.
