Exit Polling: Majority of New Voters Went For Clinton, Not Trump

When Republican Donald Trump won the GOP primary earlier this year, he argued the tent had been expanded and that he brought new voters into the fold. He said the same would happen in the general election and his campaign has been banking on first time voters to put him in the White House.

But according to exit polling, first time voters heavily went for Democrat Hillary Clinton, not Trump.

If these numbers hold, it blows a big hole in the Trump campaign's strategy leading up to Election Day and also proves Democrats took the lead on registering new voters.
