Homeland Security and FBI Issue New Warning About Terrorism in U.S. From ISIS Sympathizers

As the United States and coalition forces continue to bomb ISIS in Iraq and Syria, officials at the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have released a joint bulletin to local law enforcement warning them about an increased potential for homegrown, lone-wolf terror attacks.

"We believe these strikes will contribute to homegrown violent extremists' broader grievances about U.S. military intervention in predominantly Muslim lands, possibly motivating homeland attacks," the bulletin states.

Officials are also asking Americans to remain vigilant and to pay attention to suspicious activity. The White House has said there is no active, "concrete" planning to attack the United States at home at this time.

The bulletin comes less than a week after Democratic Rep. Tim Bishop revealed 40 ISIS fighters have returned to the United States after fighting overseas and are being tracked by the FBI.
