Hey, maybe they (government) feels we should spread the toilets and showers around. If we have more than one bathroom and someone less fortunate w/a gazillion kids has only one.....maybe you'll be tapped in Florida (4 bathrooms) to accommodate shower/toilet privileges for the numerically disadvantaged bathroom gang! :-).

I had it easy in 'Nam, compared to the Marines and the Army. I spent 14 months running around the rivers, but didn't have to crawl around in the jungle and/or mud.

The rest of my trips (1967-1975,) less 1969 and 70) were close to the coast on the gun line, or out to sea a ways on SAR, which was really missile barriers. So, I can readily understand where nothing could have prepared you for that hell hole or what you experienced there.

Still, you had certain advantages that the fellows raised in the suburbs or the cities did not. You understand how to get around the ground and fire a weapon before you joined the Corps. And, busting your hump was not a new experience to you.

So true,the D I that trained us was not as tough on me as my Pop was,and working on the ranch was a great way to get in shape for the military, although nothing prepared me for Nam, I left too much of myself there. I always laughed about many of the guys from the big city seemed to be stuck in neutral early on in basic till our D I stuck a boot up their azzz, but yes feeding the cows early in the am before school on a winter day in Montana can be a real test of one's will. I still say there is no better place to spend one's life then here.

Listened to some-of Beck today and it appears #baths..is one of the census questions. Huh?????

Maybe the government (census bureau) wants to retrospectively calculate the # of toilet paper rolls each household used during the past decade. Therefore, they can adjust, determining mathmatically, the future usage vs. the amount of recyclable debris vs. rogue refuse...which depends on the current # of occupants in each dwelling for the next decade.

Ah, they need a mathmetician to separate and analyze the genre as to the debris. Hmmmm, maybe they could hire Mr. Munck.

I remember my mom used to tell us how it was driving in Shreveport when she was in her teens when they got snow there, in Montana when we are in town and hear that weird noise coming from a car driving by and we realize it is the sound of snow chains, we then guess what state is the car from usually it is California. funny some times we get a foot of snow and life goes on, but in cities like Seattle they get an inch and the city shuts down. I hear someplaces have snow days when they close down the schools because of snow, never happened here though. People here just go about their business when it snows. Contractors I know still pour concrete still build homes or commercial buildings when it snows,up here you can't stop working cause...

WE have nothing like your temps, but it is cold for Florida. The WX guesser on Ch 4, said last night that it was the longest cold snap in history, eleven days of temps dropping below freezing.

He also said that there was a chance of sleet and snow Saturday. Boy, that will be fun! Last one of those was in December 1989. Number Four Son and I went out to a main street and made bets of who was going to run into whom. Funny thing was that folks with licenses plates from snow states had the most problems. Why? Well, they simply couldn't believe anybody could drive so poorly on snow and didn't watch for the Florida drivers.

Off topic: It was -29 degrees when I awoke this morning. It's now 8:17am in Colorado and the temp on my back porch is -13. It gives me shivers to think about how cold it'd be without global warming :)
