Gingrich Is Defending Steele

As Meredith noted, Republicans are steamed at Steele -- but who's rushing to his defense? None other than Newt. Apparently, we need to "relax and focus on winning elections and not on inside-the-party cannibalism."

Michael Steele makes a number of old-time Republicans very nervous...He comes out of a different background. He went to seminary ... he's African-American ... But I think he's pretty close to what we need. He's different, he's gutsy and he's going to make a number of Republicans mad.
He also actively believes we can't win the House or Senate and thinks the GOP isn't ready to lead. But apparently we should ignore our nervouseness and our anger, and blindly stick by him!
