62% Say Clinton was a Better President than Obama

I guess this is what happens when someone makes you choose the lesser of two evils. In a recent Rasmussen poll, 62% of those surveyed said they thought Bill Clinton was a better president. Only 20% say Obama is doing a better job.

Well I can’t say I am shocked. At least while Clinton was in office the economy wasn’t in the toilet and in general the country was more prosperous.

But the similarities between the two presidents are actually getting clearer as we get to closer to the midpoint in Obama’s second term. Both were plagued with government shutdowns created by the gridlock in Congress. Both have overseen international incidents and done nothing to help. Granted President Obama has not had a sex scandal like President Clinton, but the other scandals he has been a party to certainly are not the best for his record.

Legacy is going to be an important part of how the rest of President Obama’s second term plays out. We certainly know that he wants to be known as a better president than whoever is next on the list.
