I agree that Bayh is setting himself up for a 2012 presidential run. He is desperate to distance himself from the fiasco that is currently being created by this current administration. He has a big problem though. Although he now wants to distance himself he has pretty much voted with the liberal dems on most occasions. It will be difficult for him to claim that he all of a sudden saw the error of his ways.
I see him trying to sell himself as a moderate dem but his record will not back him up.

that if he creates one job after he leaves office, it will be one (1) more than created by in the past six months.
Bayh is PO'd and will likely throw the liberal cats out the door once he decides to run for president.
M guess is he sees an opening to run for president in 2012 and does not want the stink of the liberal democrats attached to him.

Bayh is smart enough to know that he will not get elected to POTUS if his fingerprints are on Obama's dirty deeds; they all saw the TeaParty Protests and lost three big elections to conservatives. Too late. So far, Bayh has voted right along with everything Obama and Pelosi asked him to. Bayh sees that the only way he can avoid continued votes FOR Obama's bills is to be off the voting roster.
Bayh will spend the next two&1/2 years doing good deeds, infomericals for good causes, and being seen in the right places doing wholesome things. Nascar even. Right now, Bahy's trying to get some of the stench of Washington, D.C. off him.
What a doofus.

Maybe hes tired of being threatened by his OWN party leaders for now buying into their radical ideas and tired of the attacks from nut jobs from dailykos and from dems here and everywhere who think EVERY is evil but them. And maybe he found some HONOR and realized he couldnt sell out himself or his state any longer, so he left the game to fight from where the REAL POWER ACTUALLY IS, the PEOPLE.YOU IDIOTS DONT SEEM TO GET IT, OBAMA IS NO ONE, NONE OF THEM ARE, we are who control;s this country, they just dont understand it, BUT THEY WILL IN NOVEMBER,and when Obama shoves the healthcare bill through, and we take control, and rip it from our laws and throw it back in his face I WONDER IF HE WILL TRY TO WIN RE-ELECTION, or just slivere off...

I have found out that when politicians wait until it's convenient to find clarity, then it's for political expediency and not on priciple.
It's like Powell making his Iraq presentation to the UN and turning around and writing a book about why we should not have gone in and then endorsing BO.
It's an unprincipled approach to governing. It makes me think the person does not have a backbone or the person is a back stabber without any principles that govern his leadership opportunities.
Either way - keep the change Evan, and good bye sir!

Now he figures it out?
After 14 months of voting and supporting BO's federal govt. expansion - 75% of the time. Evan now finds clarity?

It's the politician's way to go with the flow. I'll say one thing for him, he did vote against BO's budget and he has been a fiscal conservative..until he was sent to the back room by the Socialists.

If this is how he intends to run for president or any other public office - he should reconsider his perspective.
NO FOOL would buy the come to clarity moment he is trying to sell. It's as bad as the hopey changey thing he and his party members tried selling to us - ONLY WORSE since he does not have the Obama coolness with teleprompter.
DON'T THESE PEOPLE KNOW WE THINK THEY ARE CLUELESS?

he must be referring to all the in-fighting amongst themselves. They've got the votes to get anything they want. It's the far left wing nuts causing the problem along with our president.

... as you say he will either work as a well paid lobbyist for a company to dredge more taxpayer dollars or there is a scandal brewing.
Both are identifiers of the Democrat party these days so it's a toss up.

I give credit where credit is due, so it is time to give one to Obama!
"Washington (CNN) -- President Obama announced $8.3 billion in loan guarantees Tuesday for two nuclear reactors to be built in Burke County, Georgia.
The new reactors are to be part of an expansion of an existing nuclear facility near Augusta, Georgia, operated by Atlanta-based Southern Co.
The loan guarantees will help create 3,500 on-site construction jobs and 850 permanent operations jobs, administration officials claimed. The reactors will help provide power to over 550,000 homes and 1.4 million people, it said."
Problems are:
CNN reported the permits for the reactor would not be ready until 2011 or 2012! I would think a...

Bayh will either work for an insurance giant as a lobbyist - probably his wife's company - or has a scandal coming down the pike. Either way, he's been one of the worst Democrats since the blue dogs took over the Party for monetary self-interest and pocket lining. Hi, Joe- you too! Sorry, I didn't mean to leave lieberliar out of the mix.

Congress is broke and needs fixed so I'm leaving.
I think there's a lot of good things that could be done by congress so I'm leaving.
I really want to help people and congress needs more folks who want to serve the public so I'm leaving.
Man, I hate to be overly skeptical about this but am I the only one who gets that "pregnant girlfriend in the background" feeling? Honestly I hope not but you've got to admit something's just not adding up.

about one thing. Legislators who self limit or are principled are the most likely to leave Congress. This leaves the least principled in office. The worst legislators are also the most likely to be from "drone voter" districts and continue to be re-elected. We are seeing the results of this process with the current gangster government.
Interesting there was no follow up about the "private sector" being where jobs are created rather than government. The assumption being that making laws was the best place to do good.

Huh? According to the ideologues, like Pat Lib and Axe, the private sector is a failure.
I wonder if Bayh is talking about the radical leftward shift of the Democrat Party.

why don't these congress persons say these things while in office? Maybe Bayh could form a coalition to fix things from inside so we wouldn't have to attack from outside.
