Sen. Begich Refuses to Respect Sen. Murkowski’s Wishes, Offends Her With Remarks About Ad Photo

This may be one of the most offensive things a politician has said about a woman this campaign cycle – and it didn’t come from a Republican.

At a recent debate in Alaska, Democrat Sen. Mark Begich went on the defensive when his GOP challenger Dan Sullivan asked about Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) request that his campaign remove her image from their political ad.

Begich's response? Murkowski simply didn’t like the picture:

That’s right. Murkowski didn’t want to be featured in Begich’s ad because she didn’t like how she looked, not because of policy differences, Begich argued.

Murkowski was justifiably offended by the Democrat’s comments. Here’s what she said:

“That to me, is offensive. This is not a situation where you want to make sure you’ve got a pretty picture on the TV. That was an offensive statement and I don’t appreciate that. I think it’s important that people understand that ‘no means no.’”

Begich’s comments prove that Democrats are the ones women’s rights groups should be after this year. Another example of a Democrat sticking his foot in his mouth is when Vincent Sheheen accidentally called South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) a “whore,” and then laughed about it.

No wonder more women are planning to vote Republican this November.
