Hoax Image of "Attacked Trump Supporter" Goes Viral

A tweet purporting to show a woman savagely beaten at a Donald Trump rally has gone viral. Just one problem: it's a hoax. The woman pictured in the tweet is actually actress Samara Weaving, and the image is not from a Trump rally, but from the set of her television show Ash vs. Evil Dead.

The tweet was sent from "Conservative Nation" and has not been deleted as of this writing. The tweet had been retweeted more than 400 times.

While it's true that some Trump supporters (and at least one Bernie supporter) were attacked outside of a rally in San Jose, Weaving was not among them. (Given that the actress is Australian, it's unlikely that she's supporting anyone this election, and even unlikelier that she'd be appearing at rallies.)
