Louisiana Named Most Pro-Life State; Washington The Least

Americans United for Life released their annual "Life List" report on the most and least pro-life states in the US. This year, Louisiana came out on top for the fifth straight year, followed by Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

Nos. 46. Connecticut, 47. New York, 48. Vermont, 49. California, and 50. Washington state brought up the rear, with Washington placing last for the fifth straight year.

States were awarded points based off of certain pieces of legislation that restrict abortion access and protect women. A state that had laws limiting abortion at five months, for instance, would receive three points, whereas a state that publicly funded abortions would lose two points.

The "most improved" states were Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, and Kansas. A full list is available here.
