Last week, I lamented a new poll indicating that race relations are actually regressing under President Obama--a trend I admittedly had not foreseen. If the White House is at all concerned about this harmful drift, perhaps its

new chief of staff should counsel the president to lay off the inapt slavery analogies and comments like these:

Republicans are "counting on black folks staying home?" Tell that to Tim Scott, Col. Allen West, Ryan Frazier, and Star Parker.
