Presidents Day--In Search of Leadership

This Presidents Day marks 631 days until America elects a new president. During Obama's presidency we have seen a vast expansion of government and executive power--not quite what the Founding Fathers intended.

We have a president unwilling to work with Congress and who vows veto power whenever possible rather than compromising on key legislative priorities. It's not shocking that Americans view government so unfavorably seeing as the other branches of government were meant to serve as a check on presidential power but today we have a plethora of power hungry bureaucrats.

Americans want change and a president who will be accessible and accountable--someone with a record of leadership and who can work across the aisle to get the job done.

It's no secret that the American people have buyer’s remorse when it comes to the current officeholder. President Obama took his dog and pony show across the country promising hope and change and now many Americans are left with little to no hope and little to no change.

Americans are hurting. It is time for a leader who will support free enterprise and entrepreneurship and who will put America back to work. Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy and Republicans should bring their message of low taxes and reigning in government spending and regulation to help small businesses prosper.

Under this president the entitlement society has expanded and taxes have skyrocketed, all under the guise of helping the middle class. Obama's famous "middle-class economics" is nothing more than imposing new burdensome taxes on middle-class families to pay for more massive government programs. It is time to wake up America, it is time to take our country back.

Government has grown too big and too powerful--something every American should fear. Just look at the number of scandals that have occurred at the highest levels of government within the past six years. There is no accountability in government anymore and bureaucrats get away with lying to the American people under oath. The amount of fraud, waste, and abuse is abhorrent. Our Founding Fathers would be appalled at the overreach exhibited by our federal agencies and those who lead them.

America is in desperate need of leadership, someone who will safeguard the interests of the people and not government bureaucrats. America needs someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and cut the red tape. Let's use this Presidents Day to look forward and put someone in the presidency who believes in American exceptionalism, entrepreneurship, and limited government.
