Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

In 1994, after the disastrous federal raid on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, he gave some advice to his listeners: "Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests. … Kill the sons of bitches."

He later backed off, saying he meant merely that people should defend themselves if federal agents came with guns blazing. But his amended guidance was not exactly conciliatory: Liddy also said he should have recommended shots to the groin instead of the head. If that wasn't enough to inflame any nut cases, he mentioned labeling targets "Bill" and "Hillary" when he practiced shooting.

Given Liddy's record, it's hard to see why McCain would touch him with a 10-foot pole. On the contrary, he should be returning his donations and shunning his show. Yet the senator shows no qualms about associating with Liddy -- or celebrating his service to their common cause.

How does McCain explain his howling hypocrisy on the subject? He doesn't. I made repeated inquiries to his campaign aides, which they refused to acknowledge, much less answer. On this topic, the pilot of the Straight Talk Express would rather stay parked in the garage.

That's an odd policy for someone who is so forthright about his rival's responsibility. McCain thinks Obama should apologize for associating with a criminal extremist. To which Obama might reply: After you.

Dishonest Comparison
I want to make it clear, up front; I have no respect for either Liddy or Ayers. However, comparing the two as the same is ridiculous. One man was part of a group of burglars; the other man was part of a group of terrorists. One man’s crime did not include the destruction of life and property, whereas, that was the goal of the other man. The group of burglars killed no one, the terrorist’s group did kill people. Though neither man is repentant about their crime, one man served his time for his crime; one did not.

According to our laws, once you have served your time, your crime is legally behind you. Our laws also do not require that after serving your time that you must denounce your crime.

Both men are morally reprehensible; however, saying that a burglar is the same as a murderous terrorist is dishonest.

Re: No news is good news
"That's esy - print news is declining because the generation of Americans growing up and entering the mainstream spend most of their time at computers and don't want to be burdened with print, which is not so easy to access form anywhere at anytime, and requires more of an attention span."

Oh, really? Apparently those "other" "generations of Americans" missed the fact that Radio and TV alternative news sources have been around since the early 20th century, as print circulation grew throughtout entire period. In fact, the only reason most households by newspapers today is to clip the coupons. But even that doesn't seem to able to circumation up anymore for the large Metro Newspapers.

"In fact, circulation for the NYTimes and other papers is actually growing vs. their on-line editions."

Hardly! In fact, amongst NYC newspapers, only Wall Street Journal and the NY Post have seen any circulation growth in either their daily or Sunday edition in recent years.
