Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

President Barack Obama made news at a press conference last week – by planting a question with a blogger, not by offering anything new in spite of taking his sharpest questions to date.

The sharper edge of reporters’ questions had much to do with the setting, one White House press corps member said afterward: “It was our turf, in our seats … no formality of the East Room or even (the) Rose Garden. So I think when we're comfortable, we're more likely to fire back at him for follow-ups.”

Obama coming unarmed with news led to more probing, analytical-style questions which can always tie up presidents.

The planted query (the White House denies it being planted) came from Huffington Post blogger Nico Pitney; an administration official phoned him ahead of time to suggest that Obama would take a particular question from him.

“Planted questions undermine the integrity of the process,” says Mark Rozell, professor of public policy at George Mason University.

If the president wanted to offer a response to a communication from an Iranian citizen, Rozell explains, that would have been fine. “But citizens are led to believe that the questions in the press conferences are not known in advance by the president and his staff and that the process has some degree of spontaneity.”

To be sure, presidents and their staffs spend serious time anticipating likely questions and preparing answers. They have a really good record of being able to anticipate most of what a president is asked by reporters; not a lot of surprises occur.

Every so often, in response to an unanticipated question, a president will give a candid answer – and then the press conference becomes especially newsworthy.

But if “the questions are planted, then what is the point, really?” Rozell asks.

Presidential historian Joel Goldstein says the press should play an independent role and its independence is compromised if reporters simply serve up questions provided to them.

“I think there are real concerns regarding the future of the media,” he says. “Bloggers provide access to many (readers), yet much of what then passes for journalism lacks the professionalism of the good political reporters and columnists, whose experience provides a context in which to present current events.”

Part of the problem, though, is with Americans. Just look at our obsession this news cycle regarding the Gov. Mark Sanford story.

“Surely the Sanford story has many tragic dimensions, but was it really the most important story last week to justify the sort of coverage it got on CNN and MSNBC?” Goldstein wonders.

“For my money, the Senate's cloture vote on Harold Koh's nomination, Iran, health care, Korean threats, etc., will have more impact on our lives than the fact that yet another ‘family values’ politician has acted in a manner which is inconsistent with what he preaches.”

Villanova University’s Lara Brown offers two reasons why this particular press conference is just the beginning of what we can expect between the press and the president: Obama’s slipping popularity numbers, and the roughing-up of his policies on Capitol Hill.

Obama and his staff, she says, may be increasingly concerned about too many substantive questions from reporters who may smell blood.

Perhaps it is not so surprising that Team Obama might create a diversion at a press conference, to get everyone talking about the diversion instead of reporting on substantive issues – health care, energy, the economy, the budget deficit, Iran, the president's lack of engagement on many of these issues – that do not reflect well on Obama.

It’s a political strategy that can be summed up as “Look at my right hand, so you don't watch what my left one is doing.”

Remember that old song, “Smooth Operator?” Obama is just that – the smoothest operator that Purdue’s Rockman says he has ever seen.

While such tricks may not jeopardize a free press, Rockman is “worried about the decline of traditional media and reporters without axes to bear.

“There is no doubt that the ‘new media’ is actually leading us back to a 19th-century party-press, where we read only what we agree with,” he says. And that “is a genuine concern.”

Since last week’s press conference, three things have emerged that will probably change how Obama approaches a microphone.

First, there definitely will be more scrutiny of blogger questions from Obama-friendly websites. Second, since first-blood has been drawn, the press will engage in a frenzied feeding.

And third, that probably was the last time Obama will step to the podium without real news to take queries about.

Sanford Story vs Fired Inspector General
How that old guy was treated was cold blooded. If you look at the details, it paints a scary picture of the Obama administration. Sanford hurt himself and his family - he didn't break any laws - he needs to hide under a rock for awhile.

Weak, Inffective … Obama
The more Obama tries to manage things the more he looks naïve, weak, ineffective, afraid, conniving, corrupt, dishonest, arrogant but ignorant, and well, trying to mange things. The more he looks also uncertain and screws up big time. He seems to assume we are stupid. To some extent he is right. Those who voted for and still support him are easily duped and meet his low expectations of them.
Our media long before have lost credibility. Ironically this stems from the revulsion over the JFK/LBJ, their not at all best and brightest lying and mismanagement of the Southeast Asia War. Supportive at first the media became disenchanted as that quagmire continued and casualty figures mounted. (Credit to David Halberstram, NY Times reporter and book author, for references to the not best or brightest and the quagmire.)
Sense then the Internet has risen to a formidable force and other media declined to the level of dying or dead. While shrinking in numbers and competition the media have become less relevant, influential and given way to Internet professionals and amateurs.
In a vicious circle as Obama’s approval numbers drop his desperation and his attempted media counteractions with smoke and mirrors increases. The more inept counteractions increase the more Obama’s approval numbers have dropped and stayed low. Even his most slobbering media supporters are turning on him, e.g. Rachel Maddow, MSNBC in this piece:

Weak, Ineffective ... Obama - 2
Diversions, political strategies and tactics, and attempts to be a smooth operator are Obama’s stock in trade along with non-stop campaigning. Obama has not yet separated campaigning from governing and it is doubtful he is capable of doing so.
He simply does not have the experience or skills to do the jobs of leading and governing. The smooth orator, Golden Boy of the 2004 DNC speech has become the teleprompter reading, pretend and failing president. For Obama his false presidency is OJT, a job well above his pay grade and one where he does not meet his “campaign rhetoric” that he asked all of us to put aside with the “childish things.” He is the child trying to do adult things in a most troubled nation and world.
That is a shame because we desperately need a strong leader committed to the greatness of the U.S. Obama is none of that. He ran on hope for change of the U.S. he does not like, most likely even hates, as a racist, Black Supremacist, Muslim born, raised and has told us by now in so many ways, at so many places and times repeatedly he is a Muslim at best strongly influenced by Socialists, Communists and terrorists.

No surprize here!
Ovomit has been a manipulative phony all his life. He's the only president (so-called) I've seen that calls reporters names from a list. Only a naive idiot would think the questions were impromptu and not previously set-up.

Major Garret is probably the only one that broke that pattern.

Debate the issues.

I love how Obama always says he welcomes debate on the issues then never debates the issues.

As we are seeing, 700 pages of legislation is put before congress with only minutes or hours to vote on legislation.

Liberals think Obama is wonderful.

What Press?
The problem MSM has is not reporting news. Too much time is spent on Hollywood and fictional tails designed to boost ratings.

However, the biggest problem the MSM has is: only the really stupid and ignorant people would even pretend to believe their fantasy news.

There are no reporters working for the MSM, they are all fiction writers.

This entire administration
should be "planted".

As in six feet under "planted"...
Metaphorically speaking that is ; )

Ronald . . .
I respect your comments but must respectfully disagree with you on a few points.
Reporting of the Viet Nam war was skewed by the media, first with walter (red) cronkite's assertion that the war was unwinnable and the twisted reporting of the Tet offensive. Many years later, the north Vietnamese General Giap stated that Tet WAS a turning point in the war--although the north lost miserably, OUR NEWS MEDIA helped turn the tide and supported the communists. It also held a blind eye to the abuse that soldiers returning from Viet Nam were subject to from "anti-war" protesters.
If the "news media" was doing its job, it would have reported on how the 1960 election was "stuffed" by the dead voters of Chicago as well as the numerous affairs that were part of the kennedy "camelot" administration.
There are many instances of the "news media" fomenting lies. Looking back throughout history, you will find that quite often, the news media HAS NOT been the "guardian of truth". "Agenda driven reporting" and "editorial license" (abuse) is as old as the media itself.
Best regards,

UN-TRUTH and the MEDIA
We all know the media reports to the party that pays the MOST money. The TRUTH does NOT even enter into it. Thank GOD the public is starting to get it and the final collapes of the TIMES and their cronies will be the final proof.
But, then again, BO ( not the dog he named after himself ) might just buy them out like he did with CBS UN-NEWS.
bill clinton ( he doesn't deserve to have his name capitalized ) was a pretty good LIAR and SNAKE-OIL-SALESboy ... was a rank amateur to the GIFTED MESSIAH OF THE WORLD !

"...The planted query (the White House denies it being planted) came from Huffington Post blogger Nico Pitney; an administration official phoned him ahead of time to suggest that Obama would take a particular question from him..."

Did I miss something? Who said the question was planted? Nicco is excellent and did some of the best work out there on the Iranian election violence. Are you trying to make a story or angry the right doesn't get planted questions any longer?

By the way, you don't think a state governor disappearing isn't a story? Come on... LOL

Disapointed
That just about sums it up for us in our house. I was so excited years ago when we finely got Satellite TV. We thought now we can get all the news we have been missing. HUH! The reference to the country's obesession with Gov. Sanford and let us add Michael Jackson is bogus. I believe the obesession is manipulated by the distributors of the so called NEWS. If I want any more of some the drivel we get I can check it out while standing in the checkout line at any grocery store or walmart.

Disappointing News
One expects bad news coverage from MSNBC, but I was very disappointed in FOX on Thursday. They should have been reporting on the Cap and Tax bill that was to be voted on on Friday (which ultimately passed in the house). Instead, it was non-stop coverage, all afternoon and all night, of Michael Jackson. I guess they are trying to compete with Entertainment Tonight.

Lets see Obama
Whitehouse & reporters??? and they actually believe that folks think the questions are NOT known beforehand???
Obama = lies
Main stream reporting = manipulated news
I simply do not believe a thing coming out of Washington or from any of the big news stations.. They are all in bed together for control of the American people...

Hal
The Sanford story was a local story that does not affect most americans. The cap and trade story will affect the whole nation in years to come.Never in our history have we had a congress that passes so many bills that they have not read.Other than Fox there has been virtually no scrutiny of these bills

"Americans" are the problem?"
The author declares: "Part of the problem, though, is with Americans. Just look at our obsession this news cycle regarding the Gov. Mark Sanford story."

The over coverage and hype of the "Sanford story" is a "political manifestation of the press." Another liberal biased feeding frenzy to smear the headlines with GOP malfeasance.
The people are not clamoring to languish in the details of Sanford's infidelity; it is the "MEDIA" who is cramming it down our throats.

As for the media smelling blood, we are talking about an incestuous relationship between the media and Obama. If they see blood in the water, they won't be circling their victim, they will be breaking a leg to rush to his defense with puff-piece Band-Aids.

Newspapers are obsolete
It's that simple. Name one newspaper whose circulation is on the rise. The NYT, the LAT, all the biggies are fighting for their lives. I consider myself a news junkie and I read a newspaper only once every six weeks. What I read has been available on the internet, on the news channels, or on talk radio since yesterday. Why pay money to read a liberally-biased version of yesterday's news? All these reporters are participating in an obsolete game. Where's Bill Clinton's "bridge to the 21st century" when we need it? Al Gore should be complaining about the death of trees needed to support this dying industry. The newspapers will go on printing, but fewer and fewer people are reading.

the best of times and the worst of times
In our rush to copy European models...we soon will only have the enquirer to draw from for information. But what really is wrong with Aliens abducting the president? Could we really be worse off?

The Difference...
...between the Left and the Right is that Conservatives know when they sinned and the Right does not; same old daily stuff for them - I expect that from God-less communist bastids.

"Remember that old song, “Smooth Operator?” Obama is just that – the smoothest operator that Purdue’s Rockman says he has ever seen."
SLICK is a better operative adjective.

Slow Poke, have you ever heard of spell check?

nothing like this before
I have seen a number of presidents... NEVER have I seen the press so obviously in the tank for a POTUS as with the Chosen One, the Pied Piper of Change, the ObaMessiah.

It seems likely that part of it is that he is the first black, but even more so, he is so liberal-- formerly the single most liberal-voting senator (they would rip a Clarence Thomas anomaly), so the MSM is revealing its substantial leftist bias.

Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over to a whole new level declaring on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God."

Res ipsa loquitur--> that says it all right there.

The Sanford story was a local story that does not affect most americans...."

Yes actually it does. It does. The governor was a top conservative who led efforts to refuse stimulus money and was a major contender for at least VP in 2012. He was a leading conservative and a governor who disappeared from his state leaving it leaderless. While I know this is classic conservatism "hooray about me; to heck with everyone else" behavior, the country needs to know who leads the conservative movement.

"...The cap and trade story will affect the whole nation in years to come.Never in our history have we had a congress that passes so many bills that they have not read..."

Want to bet? But you must give Obama credit for leadership; he is passing his agenda in record speed.

"...Other than Fox there has been virtually no scrutiny of these bills"

Actually there very much has but you must look for it. The news business has a rule - if it bleeds, it leads. The governor story was blood; cap and trade was economics. They people will reassess in 2010. My guess is they will continue to support Democratic Party change.

Think quietly about this. Is it possible that the press and the vast majority of the American people are correct? You and the loud minority here may be wrong?

Reliability
One fact one can always rely upon is that the press is filled with people who are convinced of their own genius and irreplacability. They are going through cognitive dissonance right now, balancing their obvious love of this man with the fact that he holds them in as much contempt as he does everyone else.

Like a goodly portion of the sonambulistic American citizenry, they are beginning to wake up to just who and what Prince Obama is, and I suspect will soon turn on him. We wanted change from Bush, certainly, but not every call for political change requires a total repudiation of the founding principles of the nation.

Our resident liberals are very fond of grabbing a single poll number and saying, "See, Americans LOVE their bouncing baby president!" But political popularity is graphic, not pointillistic, and this parabola has reached its peak and beginning reverse. Why else do you think he has pushed harder to remake America in his first few months in office than any 10 presidents before him? He knew he had a tiny window from the beginning.

Obamalove is a one night stand, and dawn is breaking.

MSNBC CNN...what Americans want?
Did I understand the Author correctly? That CNN and MSNBC is pushing the Sandford story is a response to what Americans want... CNN and especially MSNBC work for Obama - not the American people. His agenda is their agenda, obermann, matthews don't read the news they read a script.
ABC is running an hour long Obama infomercial, and will allow no Republican rebuttal.
I read the WSJ,Drudge,Townhall and Fox News to hell with the rest of them.

thanks for the affirmation, Hal !
re:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hal, with you on the side of the MSM, it removes all doubt that they are biased and wrong!

And the "vast majority of the American people" are rapidly expressing chagrin about the ObaMessiah's policies.

Amazingly, so few note that Dubya had similar personal popularity ratings to the Chosen One's at comparable points in their first terms.

Hal, fess up-- are you not REALLY simply a front for the left on TH? I figured out long ago that TH is REALLY a neoCON mouthpiece, and neoCONS are on often the left ("compassionate conservatism") on issues other than Zionist militancy for Israel.

Obama Tries To " FIX " Press Conference

The State Run Media made even more "In The Tank " for Obama than usual.

INDEPENDENCE DAY TEA PARTY REBELLION !

THE 4TH OF JULY 2009 !

Stand Up !

Hal, the REREMF Lying Doofasss,
if the OMSM is so objective why did OABC not give the Republicans a chance to present their ideas on heathcare, and refuse ads from groups which oppose Obamacare?

reply to: Tommy
Very articulate, cogent, cognitive post at 12:30, especially here:

"We wanted change from Bush, certainly, but not every call for political change requires a total repudiation of the founding principles of the nation."

My recent post about this:

reaping what we sewed--

All this is Dubya's fault... he caused the stink which led to the overreaction. The very theme of "change" says it all.

We were mainly angry about the bad economy (though the left largely precipitated that with sub-prime mortgage requirements), but also sick of Iraq, disgusted by lack of border enforcement, and angry about profligate guvment growth.

Amnesty John simply offered more of the same-- another open border, neoCON who admitted that he did not understand economics (bad time for that honesty!).

Vast majority of Americans approve?.....
Sunday Rasmussen poll; "The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of 0"

and from the same poll:"Overall, 54% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-five percent (45%) disapprove."

And: "Sixty percent (60%) now trust their own economic judgment more than President Obama’s too."

And: "But 47% of Americans oppose more government regulation of the U.S. financial system, while 33% believe more regulation is a good idea.Only 23% of favor giving the Fed more regulatory control.

Yes: there are problems with the Rasmussen Poll. They poll likely voters, so that makes it more difficult to spin the results. So, Hal, I feel for you! Well sort of. Well, NO .

And the other problem with Rasmussen is they have the best record for accuracy. But they are looking for something different than you.

So, Hal, I imagine that you will challenge the statements above. I am guessing it will be in the "1984" style rhetoric. "32% strongly approve " translates to "vast majority"

Go for it.

why RINOS were rejected
It is ESSENTIAL that Republicans and conservatives NOT repeat some of the mistakes that dragged RINOS/CINOS recently-- mainly spending and growing guvment like liberals!

Notwithstanding that caveat, Republicans won 5 of 6 elections after Carter, several by blowouts... only Slick Willie's second term was a solid win for the left, until Glowbama-- and Slick Willie was dancing like a center-right pol (the era of big govt. is OVER). Slick with 43% of the vote had claimed a mandate in '92, but gadfly Perot botched up those results (and with a Libertarian/right-bent message at that).

It was NOT the traditional Republican message that the electorate repudiated in 2008... it was Dubya's neoCON adventure in Iraq, followed by the economic collapse, which the LEFT in Congress (Dodd, Barney "I want your Frank," Schumer, etc.) had engendered with demands for sub-prime mortgage lending.

The ObaMessiah/Glowbama will likely learn to regret it if he overplays the big guvment stratagem. The tea parties are a sincere rejection in the making. His negatives are HIGHER than Dubya's were after 3 months-- and many had thought that Dubya was illegitimately elected.

Hal
Yes I'll bet I've been around since FDR was pres. Even his congess wasn't as corrupt and as arrogant as this one.I will admit, that I was just a lad then. The only other adminisration that came close was LBJ.

oracle1
If -- and that's a hugwe "if" -- If we can survive Obama, he has done the nation an invaluable service by defining beyond the possibility of spinning an alternative, the true face of American liberalism.

Our shorthand for it using terms like "tax and spend," "socialism," "welfare state," etc., had grown tired and no longer resonnated in political reality. Especially after Clinton and then eight years of profligate "compassionate conservatism," these terms had become meaningless blather, much like the liberal catchphrase for confiscatory taxation: "fair share."

Obama defines modern liberalism better than we ever could. It remains to be seen how middle America reacts, but unless middle America is satisfied with staggering debt, a steadily eroding quality of life, political impotence internationally, and enslavement to a cancerous federal government consuming more and more of the body politic, we don't need to do much but to let the game play out.

If on the other hand, if urban America wants what Prince Barack is selling, there is always secession for the tens of millions of us who don't!

He may appear to be weak and ineffective
but if he is able to push through bills such as the climate hoax tax bill you can kiss our Constitution good-bye. This will put the U.N. in the position of a global IRS.

My question is ...who will the military defend once the U.N. becomes our leader?

Commie Obommie
Well, we all know that the MSM is in the tank for Obama, and they are delighted to do his dirty work for him. I seldom even watch any news on any station except Fox because they are the only station with any semblance of true journalistic ethics, and is the only station that doesn't make me want to gag because of a sick devotion to Commie Obommie.

IMHO
Planting questions is dishonest and manipulating. But then, those are minor offenses considering Obama's track record.

It's gotten to the point that we look at each other in our family and say...so what did you expect?

Skunks don't change their stripes any more than cheetahs lose their spots.

whereas the msm is mildly annoyed by flap ears using huffpuff to ask a staged question other reports maintain the messiah is brewing other problems for his future relations with the lackey media losers.

Seems he has his pet group of reporters who he knows will already glorify anything and everything about the fraud in the white house.

These messiah pets are now said to be issuing the talking points to the rest of the media. Guess flap ears is so unsure of himself he trusts no one.

But perhaps one day the msm may decide to imitate real reporters and start asking tough questions and even better start investigating and reporting the many questions concerning who flap ears is, who his associates and mentors have been and their influence in leading him to decide to attack capitalism to implement his socialist nightmare

Despite the dims in congress, the current silent msm and flap ears the clown, america does not want socialism

Chicago Sleaze
Why would anyone of us be surprised with Obama??Campaigning the last three years...planted questions were at every stop! This is nothing compared to the unethical way he got rid of the Inspector General and how his anti American wifey terminated a white house staffer so she could have her lawyer friend from Sleazy Chicago take over....They are certainly making the Clintons look like amateurs! ! !

reply to: Tommy
More good points... much of Europe had moved toward more guvment, but has been trying to back away from that more recently. It seems that republics/democracies tend to move toward guvment "solutions"... those on the left push for same because that is how they get their power/hegemony.

A thing that scares me is that the ObaMessiah is perhaps even better than Slick Willie at subterfuge... he brays that, "we certainly do not want the government to run the car companies," when that is PRECISELY what he wants so he can reward the contributors and voters in the UAW.

Even some conservatives have taken to saying, "the government needs to do something about health care!" My response: to see a problem is NOT TO SAY that guvment should be the solution.

My view on health care costs--> the providers are killing the Golden Goose. Our health care costs TWICE what any other nation's does, but results underwhelm. I personally know M. Deities putting $1 million into their checking accounts, notwithstanding their whining about malpractice and paperwork costs.

why lie???
when facts are not interesting enough, wing nuts lie.
What are the facts:
WH discussed with the reporter ahead of time to present a question from the iranian people.
Reporter conducted a poll from his audience (iranians) and came up with a question.
WH was not told ahead of time what the question will be.
Question turns out to be one of the toughest questions during the presser which is why this liar "selena" did not state the question in her article.

Rockisback
Rock is in head. A liberal should not call anyone a liar, it is the same as calling someone a liberal. All liberals know or think they know is a lie, every word that comes out of their mouths is a lie, as a matter of fact their whole lives are a lie. Their only reason for living is to gain power by lying to people about what they are doing. So what if they got to where they are by having everybody who died in the last 50 years vote for them, its all a Lie.

"who blocked every attempt to mitigage the looming crash and fix the problem."

Let me make myself perfectly clear, Bush and his crony Republicans caused the mortgage problem.

"“We can put light where there’s darkness, and hope where there’s despondency in this country. And part of it is working together as a nation to encourage folks to own their own home.” — President Bush, Oct. 15, 2002"

Mr. Bush paired his belief that Americans do best when they own their own home with his conviction that markets do best when let alone.

He pushed hard to expand home-ownership, especially among minorities, an initiative that dovetailed with his ambition to expand the Republican tent — and with the business interests of some of his biggest donors. But his housing policies and hands-off approach to regulation encouraged lax lending standards.

And the regulator Mr. Bush chose to oversee Fannie and Freddie — an old prep school buddy — pronounced the companies sound even as they headed toward insolvency.

The White House press corps is barely distinguishable from the White House Press Office. One reporter or another may ruffle Robert Gibbs' feathers now and then, but no one in that bunch is unlikely to ask the president himself embarrassing or even gently probing questions.

Further, if Obama wants to put something before the public, he can do what politicians have always done: come right out with it. If he wishes to give a canned answer at a press conference, he needn't wait till the appropriate question comes up. Again he can follow tradition and simply blurt out that answer whenever he pleases. Politicians almost never give straightforward answers, so such behavior wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Planting a question at a press conference, a risky act even for someone beloved by the media, strongly suggests that the president is insecure or devious or that he has something to hide. So does his expensive, methodical, and ongoing effort to suppress nearly all details of the first half of his life. Looks like a pattern to me.

re:
"Let me make myself perfectly clear, Bush and his crony Republicans caused the mortgage problem."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ignorance is bliss! The mortgage crisis was caused by the Left's insistence that sub-prime mortgages be made to the uncreditworthy... the social engineering theory was that homeowners make better citizens. The reality is that there is a portion of the populace which simply is irresponsible.

Many millions had been loaned to ILLEGAL aliens, who promptly skipped when they lost their ILLEGAL construction jobs, causing much of the housing mess in the SW, notably Mexifornia.

Lenders were compelled to make such loans by the likes of Barney "Ï want your" Frank, Chris Dudd, and Chuck Shumer. Dubya tried to reign in the dangerous practices of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac YEARS before the collapse, but the Left rebuffed him, while Clinton man Franklin Raines was bankrupting Fannie.

zapdoodat
It is a dull and tiresome little mind that tries to place blame for a systemic breakdown of part of an economy on one political party or another.

Your nicely constructed prose does nothing to hide the paucity of your intellect if you truly believe that blaming one political sector enhances the other. Both parties were in power in Washington, sir, and it is Washington as a whole that is to blame for the crisis that ensued.

The only real lesson to be learned is that political manipulation always has consequence and toying with the time honored system of home ownership being a function of a 20% down payment, excellent credit, a reliable source of income, and an honest evaluation of the worth of the underlying asset can only lead to disaster.

Both parties are guilty of pushing unqualified people into assets far beyond their ability to manage and manipulating sound business practice in order to accomplish this dubious goal. It was a combination of idealism and cyncisim that led to the housing crisis and both parties are to blame.

If you think going on and on about Bush and his "friends" somehow exonerates Dodd, Frank, and theirs, you are a fool. That kind of tawdry demagoguery is best used on people like the Koz children who are stupid and arrogant enough to believe such rot.

Most of us here are not Republicans, but small governmnet conservatives who don't cheerlead for political mandarins of any stripe, precisely because we know they are all at heart rotten to the core. On this board, sir, it is ALWAYS a question of the lesser of evils.

Cheerleading as if the ridiculous Barack Obama and the current crop of Congressional phonies are some new wonderous species of benign public servant is both fatuous and risible.

Our Jug-eared
TOTUS will continue to enjoy his adoring media even while the misery index continues to rise with all of his power grabbing schemes. Useful idiots like the Huff n Snort brain-deads who commonly cruise TH will continue their apologetics of 0bama worship.

Meanwhile the masses mourn the death of a no good pedophile as if some national tragedy has occurred. No one in the MSM gave a rat's rear end about Sanford until he committed adultry, now everyone knows the Gov'nur.

Yeah, Blame Bush is getting old, even if he was a moron on everything except national defense. 0bama can keep sucking up to his Muslim buddies, while N Korea runs circles around him, and the MSM will write about Michelle's bare arms. We will be hit, thanks lying Joe, at least you got one thing right.

For those of you who are still sane, don't forget God, gold, guns and gardens. (thanks to whomever coined that slogan.)

Tommy
Bravo, sir.

You are correct. Both parties are greatly to blame for the implosion of the housing market -- Democrats for undermining its foundation, Republicans for playing along or looking away or protesting too weakly.

McCain and Boy George both sounded warnings about Fannie and Freddie. But McCain was an eager recipient of their campaign contributions (how in hell did _that_ practice go unchallenged for so long?), and neither got especially worked up over the catastrophe until it struck.

Bush was preferable to the stuffed shirts who ran against him in 2000 and 2004. But his hysterical abandonment of free markets at the end of his term proved that he's more fool than sage.

Politicians may not all be "rotten to the core," not at first anyway, but they are all corruptible. Consequently, Democrats and Republicans are equally likely to buy votes, reward friends and relatives, punish enemies, take bribes, tax recklessly, spend wastefully, or become intoxicated with power. The only clear difference is that Republican officeholders sometimes sober up long enough to perform the odd bit of public service. Democrats seem lost in a perpetual stupor. Most of the time, that difference hardly bears mentioning.

What is the source
of the allegation that Obama planted a question? Per the White House, the only advance arrangement was that Pitney would get to ask a question from Iran. How do we know that this is untrue?

Is Town Hall making stuff up?

good stuff, Tommy!
If you are fairly new here, STICK AROUND!
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE with your summary here:

JUST AN IDEA
Yesterday I decided that all Hondurans are very brillant. Their president would not go along with term limits, so they persuaded him to go to Costa Rica and while there they staged a coup and put another government in place.

When is President Obama next trip abroad? What do ya think? Just an idea.

We'd better do something before the Honduran money, Limperas, will be worth than the dollar and we will have an equal unemployment rate of 27%, and be considered a third world county. The Honurans are smarter than Americans regarding how to handle an arrogant president, but we can learn, right?

Zapdoodat, a paid political hack for Sen. Edward Kennedy, d-MA is a foolish, bush blaming troll completely unworthy of any serious dialogue.

Engaging him/her/it is an utter waste of what is left of our lives after the raiding of the US Treasury by Republicans and his statist, democrat heroes. Live is now WAAAY too short to waste on the likes of it....

Be Nice to Barak or else......
"Sanford gained prominence this year by opposing Democratic President Barack Obama's economic stimulus bill and rejecting $700 million of South Carolina's portion of the funds on grounds it would undermine the state's fiscal stability".

Is it possible, the administration wanted some payback when Sanford played hardball? I am guessing the 8 republicans who voted for the energy bill have closets full of argentinian flowers. You know, the kind whose beauty is too charming to resist.

Obama not so smooth
He only appears smooth because he has SO MANY people covering for him.

Put him in a debate with any savvy, intelligent conservative, without previewed questions and without a teleprompter, and he would fold like a cheap umbrella in a wind storm.

Reba - have hope in God
Obama's term will fulfill only what God has sovereignly allowed him to fulfill. He will do so then leave office - peacefully. In God We Trust! Not our presidents or party affiliation - but in God.

On another note, Hondurus citizens were brilliant, the guy seemed surprised at how he got outwitted. The EU is calling for his reinstatement, good luck with that EU. Iran is still boiling over and Ahmedinejad wants an apology. Hey, we are in europe for another 3 weeks and after 5 weeks, I can attest to the fact that the dollar is struggling.....the last time we were here in 2000 the euro was worth half a dollar. Today the euro is equal to and when VAT taxes are added, can you say $2 for candy?

Most people drive those little cars if they can afford the gas. Otherwise they use bikes. It's amazing watching all these danish people riding a bike while wearing a suit to go to work. i am assuming those cars and bikes are the way of GM and americans in Barak's vision.

Captain Spaulding
About all I can add to Original Cactushead's post is an observation: even during question-and-answer sessions, Obama often seems to be reading from a teleprompter.

Perhaps I'm already so conditioned by his overreliance on the device that I think he's using it when he's simply looking off into space. But let's explore briefly the possibility that he _is_ using a teleprompter.

Of what possible use is that thing in an impromptu exchange? Obama doesn't seem to be working a keyboard at the lectern, so it's doubtful that he's Googling GDP figures that can be displayed on the teleprompter. An aide somewhere out of sight may be using it to feed him answers or factoids or talking points on the fly. I imagine that one person in a million can type fast enough to pull off that trick. The only other explanation is that Obama is reading prepared answers. He can't have access to prepared answers unless someone on his staff has previously reviewed or suggested some of the questions that reporters are putting to him.

tj I appreciate the dialogue and the opportunity to teach more again part of the U.S. and world history in which I was a participant – four years in Southeast Asia, 21 years AF active duty, 38 years total in uniform – with degrees initially in journalism, midway a masters in counseling, capped off by a degree in Bible Studies. Aside from the military my experience includes commercial flying, teaching college, high school, adult ed, small business ownership, mission work and more along the way.
I said “supportive at first the media became disenchanted” with the war. That’s my firsthand story and I’m sticking with it. At first was roughly 1961-65 or so. JFK committed “advisors,” Special Forces for 6-month tours. LBJ began building up in 1964-5 after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. The war, being fought in Laos, NVN, SVN and a bit in Cambodia, partially out of Thailand, went well at first then came the one-sided bombing and fighting pauses of Christmas 1965 through Tet of 1966. Progress made was lost and the media knew it, even advised against it.
The rest of your history is: 1) after the media became disenchanted with the war, 2) related to events in the U.S. that did indeed have telling effect on morale and commitment in the U.S. but little to no effect on we troops in the field, and 3) that of journalism in general.
A helpful book to read is Once Upon a Distant War: David Halberstam, Neil Sheehan, Peter Arnett--Young War Correspondents and Their Early Vietnam Battles, William Prochnau (New York: Vintage, 1996).

Thanks, I do have a lot of hope and faith in God, but wonder if He has time to be concerned with American politics.

My post was done with satire, which is often the way I write. I have been so upset about what this current administation is doing to our great country that it has kept me in a turmoil. I have had to back off from taking it so seriously to save my sanity. All I want to do is save my country from becoming a socialist state. I have lived and worked in three different socialist countries and know the pitfalls of Socialism. Each time I returned home from those countries I always felt more pride to be an American and treasured the government our Founders provided us. After the constitution was finished Ben Franklin told the people in Philadelphia who were awaiting news of our new government, "We have given the people a Republic, it is up to you to keep it."

Ms Kelly
Please be assured by your memory of Obama vs. McCain in the Saddleback Forum with the presidential candidates. A bit of the real Obama emerged there and it was not good. McCain was steady, decisive, confident and straightforward.
Obama was, as you may recall, was in over his "pay grade" by a long shot.
Theoretical Liebermann/Palin tickets are concoctions of fantisizers living in the deulsions and denials of their mental illnesses as Liberals.
Here are some more facts vs. fiction:

Obama's job (dis)approval dropped to 0 again today from +2 yesterday; his low so far -2 all way below +28 on 1/21/09 by the most reliable, accurate, least biased poll. His approval in single digits with only two exceptions +10 since a +11 on March 31. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/ob ama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

GALLUP: Most Liberal Princeton-based Obama Job Approval Slips to 58% for First Time; Lowest reading thus far...A Gallup poll last week shows people IDing themselves politically - 40% conservative, 35% moderate, 21% liberal.

Liberals have been, always will be a small minority in the U.S. and other civilized societies. They are dangers to themselves and others like Britney Spears and to be treated like her but not released too early as she was.

I was thinking that as well, on the part of the eight Republicans.

Except for McHugh. A couple weeks ago, Obama nominated him for Secretary of the Army. Payback, methinks?

Oh and Shallow Hal;

"Guess you will have a chance in 2012 with that great limbawl/palin ticket. Now this will be fun to watch LOL. Limbawl cries when confronted and palin gibbers LOL"

Limbaugh and Palin do neither. Not only that, Limbaugh is a commenter, not a politician, he has no interest in running for public office.

Now crying when confronted? You obviously haven't see your boy king crying about how mean Fox News is being to him. And gibbering? Again, you obviously haven't seen Obama sans teleprompter.

Palin did just fine for herself against Biden, not that that is much of a challenge. If she is the Republican nomonie, she will do just fine against Urkle, especially without having her hands tied by the McCain campaign. Heck, she will just have to respond to anything he says with "15 percent unemployment".

On the Press

"It is so difficult to draw a clear line of separation between the abuse and the wholesome use of the press, that as yet we have found it better to trust the public judgment, rather than the magistrate, with the discrimination between truth and falsehood. And hitherto the public judgment has performed that office with wonderful correctness." --Thomas Jefferson

Climate Change: A suppressed EPA study says old U.N. data ignore the decline in global temperatures and other inconvenient truths. Was the report kept under wraps to influence the vote on the cap-and-trade bill?

On Friday, the day of the vote, the Competitive Enterprise Institute said it was releasing "an internal study on climate science which was suppressed by the Environmental Protection Agency."

In the release, the institute's Richard Morrison said "internal EPA e-mail messages, released by CEI earlier in the week, indicate that the report was kept under wraps and its author silenced because of pressure to support the administration's agenda of regulating carbon dioxide."

Obama's Kenyan BC FOR SALE!
How much would a genuine copy of President Obama's birth certificate – from a hospital in Mombasa, Kenya – be worth on the open market?

One eBay seller, known to the public only as "colmado_naranja," attempted to find out, only to be shot down by the auction website's administrators … at least four times.

As WND reported, colmado_naranja alleged that he had been traveling in Kenya, where natives boasted that Barack Obama II was, indeed, born in the Coast Provincial Hospital in Mombasa at 7:24 p.m. on Aug. 4, 1961, which correlates with speculation that has existed over President Obama's birthplace since even prior to his election.

The eBay seller, with a flawless track record of dozens of sales on the auction website, also claimed that he was able to obtain a genuine copy of Obama's Kenyan birth certificate and posted it for sale online, with an opening bid of $1,000 and a "buy it now" price of $1,000,000,000.

NOW WE KNOW ....

WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

Much ado about nothing
Didn't George Bush actually have a plant in the press in the form of Jeff Gannon? The elite WH press corp is jealous and petty. They are making a huge deal out of nothing at this point. The proof is in how they completely ignored the Gannon debacle.

Obama's Land of Servitude

An indentured servant is a form of debt bondage worker.

Historically 'Indentured Servants' were required to work a specific number of years, usually (3 to 7), but the 'Hope' Obama brings with his 'Change', is that the 'Indentured Servants' will only serve from April 15 of one year to April 15 of the next.

The 'Indentured Servitude' class or 'Collective' that Barack Obama is creating, will only be a segment of the American Citizens, comprised of those who willingly work in an attempt to provide for themselves and their families - all others are exempt.

The children of the 'Indentured Servant Class' automatically inherit the 'Debt Bondage' of their parents.

Barack Obama hails this 'Indentured Collective' as Patriotic and a 'Sacrifice for the Common Good'.

This 'Collective' is quite similar to 'Share Cropping', where the worker is allowed to keep a small portion of their labor for personal use.

Barack Obama is NOW destroying the American farmer and food supply, by with holding water to 100,000 square miles of the most fertile land on Earth in California.

The control of the 'Food Supply' is necessary to Barack Obama, so that he can ration enough food for the 'Indentured Servants' to remain alive and work.

Those who are NOT in the 'Indentured Servant Collective' will become the owners and operators, of the 'Indentured Servitude Collective'.

This is but one small aspect of the 'Hope and Change' Barack Obama is bringing to America.

Barack Obama Cold and Calculating

Barack Obama revealed more of his 'cold and Calculating' ways, during the ABC special on ObamaCare June 24, 2009.

Barack Obama stated that Health Care costs could be dramatically reduced, if we didn't 'Waste Money' on those people who are terminally ill or whose 'Quality of Life' after treatment would not be very good.

To make his point, Barack Obama spoke of his elderly Grandmother, who fell and broke her hip after being diagnosed with Cancer.

Obama stated, "and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?"

Barack Obama stated that deciding when life begins is a question beyond "His Paygrade", but apparently when life should end, is within the province of Barack Obama and his appointees and employees.

Barack Obama will decide 'Quality of Life' and the value of that life.

This is reminiscent of the argumentation of Hitler and Goebbels, that 'Useless Eaters' should be removed as a 'Sacrifice for the Common Good'.

Hitler placed these people in 'Ovens and Gas Chambers', Barack Obama will simply deny medical aid and treatments, a slower and more painful death.

The goal, wittingly or unwittingly is to strip any vestige of humanity and dignity from the sufferers and those who love them and are devoted to them.

Barack Obama wants American Citizens to become as 'Cold and Calculating' as he is.

The 'Sacrifice for the Common Good' as prescribed by Barack Obama, is not only our 'Wealth, Health and Lives', but any semblance of character, morals or values.

This has been the 0bama strategy...
from day one.

Distraction is the name of the game with 0bama.

Look at the controversy on my birth certificate while you ignore real issues and elect me because I'm such a handsome man.

Look at what's going on in Iran while I slip the country a mickey with the "Global Warming" hoax.

This guy has been a master of the distraction from day one. I'm glad to see the author of this piece recognize what I've been saying for months.

This 0bama idiot is laying the path to inflation and driving away manufacturing in our country in his quest to be seen as a savior.

I can't wait until he has to do the same walk of shame as his apparent role model, Jimmy Carter. I pray the damage he is doing to our country can be undone.

Pathology...

The pure lunacy of these posts is fascinating.

You people should be studied.

All this psychosis and it's only a quarter moon.

It is distressing to see 0bama dismiss..
old folks as if they don't matter.

Need a hip replacement? Well I am wise enough to know that all you need is a wheelchair and some pain pills.

He talks about his own grandmother as if she was dirt!

I'm not old yet but it highly irritates me the attitude 0bama has for elderly folks in this country. Maybe thats because I would like to become elderly some day, heh.

Obama's ways are no news
Remember we were told about how Obama reacted during the "Born Alive" protection act hearings in the IL State Senate, and how he showed no emotion as the nurse talked about holding the Downs' Syndrome child. He loves all of us the same way. He only helps those who are willing to feed his narcissism by feeding the ballot box with votes for him.

Spin the stuff in the IL Senate any way you want; the man is coldly calculating, and will only do those things which he believes boost his image. Deal with Iran? Only in such a way that it makes me look good; I don't care about the students until it makes me look good to do so.

My only question is: "How's that Obama thing working out anyhow?"

infamy
Obama and his corrupt cronies will most certainly go down as the absolute worst administration in our nation's history. The question is though will we be able to right the ship?

Barack Obama will be CEO and COO

Barack Obama will be Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the largest Conglomerate or Enterprise, with the largest Operating Budget in the History of Mankind - ObamaCare.

The only actual 'Business Experience' Barack
Obama has, is selling subscriptions door to door for the New York Times while he attended Columbia University - he said he was not very good at it.

Congress will control the budget - Barack Obama will dispense and manage the money.

A new department will likely be created by Congress, 'Department of Health Care' which will be a Cabinet Position or maybe a Czar.

Barack Obama will issue 'Executive Orders' to this new Department, to operate and function.

"Executive orders, in United States law, is an official direction, proclamation, or statement issued by the President.

Executive orders carry the force of law, even though they do not require congressional approval.

The President's power to issue executive orders is an implied power-that is, it is not specifically mentioned in the Constitution of the United States. However, it is considered necessary for effective government.

Executive orders can be controversial because they allow the President to make policy changes while bypassing legislative processes set forth by the Constitution.

Some executive orders have been challenged or overturned by Congress (2/3 majority vote) or by the Supreme court.

Examples of Executive Orders

President George Washington issued the first executive order in the United States in 1789.

It instructed the heads of government departments to make a "clear account" of matters in their departments.

One of the most famous executive orders was the Emancipation Proclamation, issued by Abraham Lincoln in 1863.

It declared freedom for all slaves in the areas then under Confederate control.

"Stroke of the pen. Law of the Land. Kinda cool."
Paul Begala, former Clinton advisor, The New York Times, July 5, 1998

"We've switched the rules of the game. We're not trying to do anything legislatively."
Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, The Washington Times, June 14, 1999

Smooth operator?
I don't think so. The man is a criminial, an ego-maniac and a narcisist. Only the puppet media is taken in by this fake president. The reason he is getting away with it is because the media is owned by the liberal, left-wing extremists who have no thought about reality or the consequences of what their "send a thrill down my let" guy is doing. He has not concern about consitutional law or the rule of law in anything and the Democrat controled Congress is worse than he is. A bunch of Marie Antoinetts. Let them have rationed health care. We have our own plan. How disgusting that at a time of such financial crisis their priority is funding abortion abroad to the tune of over 50 billion dollars. Excuse me? Yes, I am pro-life but, even if I were not, this is stupid. Let other countires deal with this without our \tax dollars.

Distractions from the real problem
Many believe that the Bush administration caused the present economic difficulty. There is a measure of truth to that in that he chose to follow the same misguided liberal domestic policies of the past.

Other than tax cuts, Bush's domestic policies were only a milder version of those of liberal Democrats, McCain's would have been more of the same. To blame Bush is a distraction that liberals use to divert attention from the real problem. Obama's election is as much due to Republican belief in spending as anything else. His election, in part, was a repudiation of Republican liberalism by a ticked off electorate.

The real problem is that our Federal government wants your money to do with as they see fit. They not only want to micro-manage the economy, but there is a belief that they can micro-manage the earth. Pollution is one thing but this thought that they can control the earth is hubris. Why should we expect anything else from those who hunger for power?

This is about power and dominion over your lives by others who think they know better than you. Some of you will not mind this. Why is it that a liberal wants to do with your money what they are not willing to do with their own?

Passing legislation to take the hard earned money out of someone else's pocket to give to your favorite cause, charity, etc. does not give you virtue. Jealousy of someone else's wealth by belittling achievement does not make you righteous. Belittling those of faith and pointing out their "hypocrisy" does not make you holy. The individual will be "saved", not the collective.

Where will the liberals get their money to help the "poor" when they have driven the "rich" away? We declared "War on Poverty" 45 years ago and lost. It is time to 'redeploy' our forces. All we've done is create more "poor" people.

Tibby from OH @ 8:36 AM

Great post!

I just posted this to one of your fellow Ohioans, Joycey on another thread.
--------------------------------------

Profiting on the Poor

I was working on a computer project in Europe and some of the programmers asked me a question.

Why is there so much news about poverty and the poor in America?

I said you are not going to like my answer.

Poverty may not only be the most lucrative business in America, it is also the biggest business in America.

The 'Great Society' initiative by Liberals, has made more millionaires, spawned more ancillary businesses, created more careers and has invested trillions of dollars in property, houses, housing centers, than any other 'Business' in History.

The numbers of the "Poor" have been greatly increased instead of decreasing, because without an increasing supply of the "Poor", this immensely profitable enterprise will become less profitable.

I also said, there is a possibility that "Some" who are involved in this "Scheme" are true believers in helping people and suffer in the 'Dialectical Conundrum' of what they do to help reduce poverty also increases poverty.

That was my take 10 years ago and I think the problem is much worse now.

The poor do not have any power, it is those who profit from the poor, that control the power.

Perhaps the POTUS, and press
should think about the following: "when we use communication to manipulate control, confuse and intimidate, we haven't become good communicators. We have become good tricksters." (Anon.)
Pretty well describes this administration and the so-called "independant" media.

I do love watching you guys play victim. But I do recommend that you send your thoughts where they most apply; right wing radio and FOX Opinion Network. Creationism and global warming are classic examples

You Too can feel the Obama Partnership

"...That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't.
Barack Obama, Cairo Egypt, 2009

Here is an example of the Barack Obama partnership with Islam, based on true Islam.
--------------------------------------------------

"DHAKA June 29, 2009: A widow was whipped 202 times and a man 101 times following a fatwa by a religious leader for their alleged involvement in "anti-social activity" in a village in southeastern Bangladesh, prompting local protests and action by the police.

Piara Begum, a widow of 40, and Mamun Miah, 25, were whipped before hundreds of people at Khaiyar in Comilla district Saturday night.

The woman fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital. Doctors said she was critically injured and needed to be given intensive treatment.

Miah was whipped 101 times, The Daily Star newspaper said Monday.

Punishment under a fatwa is held illegal as per a high court ruling of 2001 in Bangladesh that has a predominant Sunni Muslim population.

The police arrested six people, including Moulana Mohammed Manirul Islam, a religious leader working in the local madrassa.

Piara Begum filed a case with the Debidwar police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act."

doofus the drunkard
so tell us why we should see you as anything more than an a** kisser who not only wants to see america destroyed but flap ears the clown installed as dictator.

You constantly lecture the rest of us about the evils of conservatism but are strangely silent about the spending of your messiah and savior.

It seems just like your love object infesting the white house, you are that stupid you can't calculate how much is $1 trillion

Yoiu are just like your mother lilly, the senile commie from illinois. Everything concerni ng the right is evil but everything about the left is great for this country.

Seems that like you mother lilly, you not only enjoy dropping to your knees to service the clown in the white house, you want to bore us with how much you enjoy it

I want the real America, the one our founders imagined restored and your false American values epitomized by conservatism tossed into the dustbin of history. Guess what? It is happening. Conservatives are now mostly old rural white folks slowly dying out after alienating everyone else from every other constituency and area. Your day is over and I think you are coming to realise it

"...You constantly lecture the rest of us about the evils of conservatism but are strangely silent about the spending of..."

How many trillions were spent on that war of choice Iraq? You will sacrifice to spend trillions to wage an unnecessary war of choice and not spend one dime on rebuilding this country and economy. Classic conservative incompetence and irrationality.

"...It seems just like your love object infesting the white house, you are that stupid you can't calculate how much is $1 trillion.."

How many trillions were spent on Iraq? No wonder you conservatives get in so much trouble with hypocrisy LOL. You claim sex is bad but are obsessed with it to the points it infests your attacks and arguments. Does it have to be bad to be good?????? Hmm that would explain a lot,,,,

too good
It’s a political strategy that can be summed up as “Look at my right hand, so you don't watch what my left one is doing.”

Virtual guarantee that his left hand is on his schvantz working away on his happy stick.

What else would you expect......

doofus the confused drunkard
the rest of on the right confine our affections to those of the opposite sex, you however lack the good grace to keep you sexual fantasies concerning flap ears the fraud private.

Instead you bore us with how much you enjoy servicing flap ears.

In your pathetic world flap ears can never do anything wrong. But just as flap ears has no clue concerning the growing deficits and totally believe deficit spending will grow the economy you fully subscribe to this fantasy.

But like all lefties you not only hate your children and grand children, you have no problem burdening them with these $trillions in new deficit and the burden of paying them back.

The left is never compassionate, their goal is to enslave america to the dim party and their entitlement plantation.

For fools like you there will never be enough tax money to fully fund the losers you want to enable and reward for being parasites.

Flap ears wants to destroy this republic and replace it with his vision of what a socialist nirvana will be under his dictatorship. But even more pathetic losers like you are cheering him on

Bill of Rights
It seems almost fitting that the media is now being trampled. They voiced no objection when religous freedom was attacked. They voiced no objection to attacks on the 2nd Amendment. Now we are supposed to rally in their support. They stood aside or worse yet sided with those who would infringe on our rights under the Constitution. Time and again they have put their byline ahead of national security issues by publishing sensitive materials. They have instigated witch hunts that have ruined some people's good name and never apologized when they were wrong.
Allowing the infringement of any of our Constitional freedoms undermines all of our freedoms. Now their time has come and they don't like it.

Bill of Rights
As I not in the mood to waste my time argueing with imbeciles like the pinhead from PA, Ijust send out a "well said" to Christian and move on.
