Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

Two weeks ago, ABC News White House correspondent Jake Tapper wrote in his “Political Punch” blog that the Obama White House has begun covering its own stories, “complete with cuts, interviews and chyrons identifying who's speaking.”

Although Tapper called the “coverage” (Obama at the White House basketball court shooting hoops with the NCAA champs Lady Huskies) and White House logo “cute,” he pointed out that ObamaTV – OTV for short – comes at the expense of pool reporters:

“Your Pool was not allowed to go over and shoot POTUS (President of the United States) with the team shooting hoops. We protested loudly.”

No doubt, from the outside looking in, President Barack Obama enjoys a robust, near-chummy relationship with the press. Yet from his perspective and that of those charged with protecting Brand Obama, the view is entirely different.

This is just the evolution of a president making the leap from controlling or producing the message on the campaign trail to taking those methods to the White House, says Villanova University political scientist Lara Brown.

In 1968, Richard Nixon was the first candidate to film his town-hall meetings on the campaign trail and then edit and broadcast them. Presidents with new media at their fingertips have been making quantum leaps ever since.

Presidents generally have sought to manage their encounters with the press so they can produce positive coverage, says U.S. presidential expert Joel Goldstein.

In modern history, all presidents have demonstratively shown their disdain for their press coverage.

John Kennedy famously cancelled all White House subscriptions to the New York Herald Tribune due to unhappiness over its coverage. Nixon isolated himself from the media, holding infrequent press conferences; Ronald Reagan dodged media questions by claiming he couldn't hear.

Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush, held relatively few press conferences and, when he did, they often were announced at the last minute to minimize preparation.

Goldstein does not see any particular problem with the White House wanting to handle the Lady Huskies visit sans the press pool, especially if a presidential air-ball would be replayed repeatedly on Fox and Youtube.

“But I do think there are some real worries regarding the future of press coverage of government,” he said. Continued...

How predictable you Lib Dem Obamaniacs (LDO) are!-"Bush Did The Same Thing." And making excuses for your boy as in naive Farrakhan-named Messiah Muslim by his own admissions many times in many ways before, on and since 1/20/09, at best Socialist, Communist, Black Supremacit and terrorist-influenced.
You "assume," and may or may not know or ever heard how that word breaks down into the 1st three letters, then u and me. You LDOs live on false assumptions, lack of any grasp of truth, facts, real history and current events.
You "seem to recall" or just made it up to satisfy your preconceived notions in your state of mental illness - see Dr. Lyle Rossiter - denial and delusions.
You LDOs wailed and still do so about Bush not connecting dots on 9/11, yet you are "not really seeing the sinister angle on this."
You try to come across as so logical, reasoning but are in fact so mentally ill you are best called an LDO Loon, full of O Kool-Aid, bullShiite, slobbering over your Messiah, excusing him for all the damage he has done and intends to the U.S. in his hate and "hope for change" as a racist, privileged elite who has enjoyed the best the U.S. has to offer on someone else's money. And you do not have a clue on whose money that is, nor apparently are you bright enough to care as an emotional, crazy, barely human wreck.

Media "experts" really surprised?
I'm not surprised Team Obama has begun covering itself. After all, what better way to do adequate justice to the Narcissist-in-Chief and all his henchmen?

What does surprise me is that it's taken this long for the "press" and other "experts" to catch on.

Maybe if they had dug a little more, or much at all, during his campaign, instead of swooning over him, they would understand him better now.

Real journalism, real investigative journalism, is dead in this country. It's not only that the Internet and bloggers have become such an alternative source of info. It's because so-called "reporters" or "journalists" have forgotten, and forsaken, that they only have the right of free press in order to protect the people from corrupt people in high places. And the media has become so liberal itself that it can't see anything wrong with what other liberals do. The media have gone from being the vaunted Fourth Estate to being a Fifth Column operation. Sad but true.
