Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a political action committee that supports pro-life female office-seekers, endorsed Sarah Palin's 2006 Alaska gubernatorial run because she was the whole package - a politically astute, smart, traditional woman.

We were thrilled to watch her rise. She was a popular governor whose ego did not eclipse her determination to reform. She gained a reputation for clearing out the good ol' boy underbrush in government. Not one to stir up the stew of feminist victimhood, she advanced a new sort of self-reliant, obligation-oriented feminism. As a woman with traditional values doing nontraditional things, she was a fresh role model. She and her husband advanced this philosophy together, as equal partners, while bringing their entire family along in the project.

Not one of us stopped to consider her wardrobe.

To all those feminist organizations so deeply threatened by her pro-life political position and meteoric rise, I have a message: Shut up and listen. She is the future.

No matter how one tries to destroy her, this woman's core values do not change. She knows who she is - and her outfits are not central to it. What is central are the timeless principles she embodies and seeks to advance. Her focus is on the obligations that we have to our children, our families and our nation.

When she is ridiculed for her decision to bring her son Trig, diagnosed with Down syndrome, into the world and then bring him along on the campaign, she only becomes stronger.

Why do you think she's attracting crowds of 10,000 25,000 and 60,000? Because she reminds us that each of us as individuals has the power to change our world, to organize solutions to others' sufferings - one decision, one individual at a time. She understands and articulates a principle about which we need to hear more - the value inherent in those deemed imperfect.

If the media chatter over her outfitting had subsided for 15 minutes last Friday or Saturday, the nation could have seen the real Sarah Palin. So wrapped up in tearing her down, the left and the media largely missed her Oct. 24 policy speech on special needs children. She knows of what she speaks.

Very rarely does an issue speak to the heart as poignantly as special needs children. Palin understands that heart and offers concrete help to those of us hungry for better information, authentic support and schooling solutions. Most important to me as a mother of a special needs child, she pointed to the power, strength and influence that individuals with special needs can have in our homes and our nation.

Her child, my child, and every special needs child, are not to be pitied. They are to be emulated. What a salve to the soul that Palin understands and articulates this. It brings so many special people and their families out of the shadows and into the limelight. They have so much to be proud of, and she helps them recognize that.

How does she have such a beautiful perspective? Because she sees the power, value, necessity and joy inherent in each individual life. It takes different eyes to see that, and a different voice - a mother's voice - to articulate it.

In the next few days, the women of America may have to work hard to hear Palin's voice. They will have to strain to focus on ignoring the media filter and intense anger and exclusionary politics of some on the left; persevere before it is too late. Palin's leadership brings with it great heart and profound respect for life and the ingenuity of every individual. She brings a fresh perspective that America needs.

L.A. Times Owes The Truth To America
The L.A. Times owes the truth to the American people - they are an American newspaper who is suppose to provide information for the safety of our country and the welfare of our citizens, but so far, they've refused because of a promise to one person when millions of men, women and children's lives are on the line in a few days? Our young men and women are dying and shedding their blood so they can be free to print the newspaper that they ask the American people to buy - If you want to be really successful then turn over the tapes for public review - You owe it to We The People - If there's nothing important on it then what's the big deal to view it? And, why doesn't Obama say - go ahead and show it because it's not important before election? Well, it's important to the citizens of the U.S. of American who want to view it before Tuesday. Email and write the Editor at the L.A. Times and demand that the Obama tape with Rashid Khalidi be aired on television or internet.

A Good Person
Sarah is a good, god fearing person. She is simple and speaks in a unique fasion but you always know it is from her heart. From her record you can see it is most important to her to do the right thing even if it isn't popular or it proves the difficult path. Her style is reminicent of Lincoln and Reagan. Simple, right to the point, never waivering, no excuses, strong conviction and always with care and empathy for other people!!

I think she is pretty darn awesome!! Sarah Palin is a real woman!! I hope she continues to hold her head high in light of the absolute media bias- Sarah, you are terrific!!

zapdoodat
Sorry, never touch the stuff -- I'm not a left-wing drug user. Folks on the right don't need that sort of stuff to enhance their sense of well-being as do many liberal folks who view the world by their own poor attitude: Woe is me! woe is me! The sky is falling!

You are incorrect anyway. Jesus walked on water and calmed the waters. Sarah did neither -- she simply handled dangerous situations with courage -- something I doubt that Obama has.

Sarah is going to keep lefties tied in knots for years to come. Good on her!

Seadog
"There are several stories going around in Alaska about her doing such things as taking her boat from very rough waters when the men around her feared to do so and stories of her fishing in heavy seas to save her catch."

You have been smoking too much of the Ganga. This is the story of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

If we need to help special needs children, I don't care how much of the taxpayers money is spent, so long as we get to hang onto onto our precious tax cut.

Special Needs Children by Jeff Schrembs
Being a Father to several "special needs children", and having the honor to be married to a Special Needs Teacher/Educator/Advocate - ANGEL, over these past several decades it is encouraging to see Sarah Palin take up the "mantel" for special needs children...everywhere.
To those who have wished ill to, and/or spoken ill about, Sarah Palin know that (a) we remember your comments (b) we will hold you accountable and (c) for whatever reason(s) it seems that slandering/minimizing Conservatives/Christians/White people/Women/etc. is "tolerated" the fact is that (God willing)it is HIGH TIME that everyone stood up with one voice and proclaimed...NO MORE!
NO MORE will you set your sights on destroying a person who is doing GOOD for their children and (unselfishly) for others.
How DARE you use your "media talking points" to try and discredit/undermine a person who is not affraid to embrace their own "special children" and advocate for those who have been forced to be "sheltered"...far too long.
Politics should be a SINGLE componet to a person with the MAJOR componet being their character and how they LIVE their lives.
May God bless ALL special needs children, and/or all children, throughout this World for God does not make...mistakes...ever.
These children CAN be surrounded with love, support, laughter, joy, etc. but as long as there are those who spew their HATRED (for their own perverted "gain")know that (again) times...they are a changin' and that "ever growing sound you hear late at night when you are alone with yourself" IS the sound of Mothers/Fathers/Children everywhere saying...ENOUGH.
Nuff said.
Nostradamuslives by Jeffrey Schrembs

Special Needs Palin.
Palin is an example of affirmative action for the vapid. We tell our kids that the highest offices are for those who are the best and brightest. She is neither. If McCain had a brain he would have chosen the Governor of Florida for his running mate. Most thinking GOP understand that Palin is actually a divisive force and is a negative factor in the campaign. Selecting her honors the unworthy.

Seems Palin has a knack for bringing in the most racists elements of our nation. Looking at stock video of her events, bares that out.

Re: Palin!!
this lady is a class act!!! And all the loons out there are terroified of her because she will do EXACTLY what she says she is going to do!! Honesty, Loyalty, and Integreity these are things that the military strive for and she has those traits, it is a shame that Obamarxist and Socialist Joe can't learn a few things from Ms Palin!!!!

Disgusting
Is this the same Susan B. Anthony Fund that just distributed the direct mail hit piece that said Barack Obama wouldn't save an abandoned baby if it was lying on the railroad tracks?

You are deeply disgusting people. You are a disgrace to the memory of the great hero of women's suffrage and to this country.

This kind of relentless wing-nuttery is the reason that my 80-year-old retired father, who has never for a Democrat in his life, is voting for Obama this year. His comment: Republicans think we're stupid. They need to be taught a lesson.

Chip writes about his wife
Chip, the woman you are describing doesn't sound like anything we have seen of Sarah Palin. Petty vindictiveness? No, that was Kate Couric, the dumb*ss bimbo sitting next to Sarah in that interview.

Or maybe you see those qualities daily in your wife, because they are not in Sarah. What a mean spirited liar you are. You are here all the time, trashing Palin and McCain. Time to trash you and that liar scum from hell you are voting for.

So mrbmrb
I guess you favor killing babies in tough circumstances and in convenient circumstances. About less than 1% of abortions are necessary to save the life of the mother. There were always provisions for those situations, even before Roe vs Wade made all babies in hunting season all the time, right up to the time of birth.

So, you are another baby killing thug who hates Sarah because she thinks life has some value, even handicapped life then?

Obama's supporters are ghouls.

Blowback on Tina Fey
Tina Fey's movie 'Baby Mama' sits unrented, hundreds of copies, at Blockbuster. I had thought I would rent it until she was used as a tool to mock Sarah Palin. Now I hear she wouldn't speak to Sarah when Sarah was on SNL, so she is worse than a tool.

Well, Chattanoogans must be angry with her, because we aren't renting her film. I hope that is repeated all over the country. I had liked Tina due to her AE commercials until she showed her butt.

Idopas and MRBMRB
Why don't you pull your hand out of your pants for a minute and get a grip on reality bros. You two are pathetic beasts

SARAH PALIN IS FOR REAL ! USA,USA!
THE SAME OL LEFTY RADICALS HATE ALL THAT IS MORAL AND RIGHT ABOUT SARAH AND AMERICA!BARB WALTERS AND THE KATIE COURIC BUNCH THINK ONLY THEY CAN HAVE THE NICE WARDROBES!THE OL LIBERAL BITTIES,THAT ARE FOR ABORTION AND PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION,JUST CANT STAND SARAH,TOUGH.! THE REAL MEN AND WOMEN LIKE HER,SHE IS ALL AMERICAN,DOES BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA EVEN SOUND RIGHT!??NO,ONLY THE RADICAL LIBS LIKE OBAMA!

The whole package
Mrs. Palin has the whole package; she has the experience to govern and is a great role model.

When people on the other side who do not like her, all they can do is to tear her apart, picked on her look, clothes and her family. No matter what people said about her, she is still standing strong.

She got my vote!!

ldopas (voice from the UK)
I agree that she should not be called a hero. It angers me when I see the word misused as when some one who can run fast, throw a ball or some such in sports is called a hero.

That said, she is one brave woman. There are several stories going around in Alaska about her doing such things as taking her boat from very rough waters when the men areound her feared to do so and stories of her fishing in heavy seas to save her catch.

She's got my vote and I, as a sailor for forty-plus years am impressed by her -- and I am damned hard to impress!

Conservatives, Republicans, ...
disgruntled Democrats, Hillary supporters, and anyone else who believes an Obama presidency would be disastrous...

VOTE!!!

Obama hasn't won this election. It hasn't even occurred yet. Don't let the propaganda depress our voice. Do not sit at home on election day. It may be the most important vote you ever cast. Don't let them tell you there's no chance. Don't let them get the better of you. If you do nothing else in support of John McCain this election cycle, go vote on November 4th. Do not hand this thing over willingly. Put up some fight, at least.

Because she's a real woman
...and not an elite Washington insider, Sarah Palin must be destroyed by the media. Their contemptuous parodies of Governor Palin have indoctrinated the sponge-like brains of their followers into thinking that she is Tina Fey.

To many people Gov. Palin is truly a heroine, one with tremendous courage and strength of character to stand up to all those who want to see her disappear, along with her family and her values. They fear that if she appears likely to succeed in leading this country all their liberal policies are in jeopardy. Gov. Palin is an inspiration to young women who have been taught the principles of Christian living and patriotism. Those are character-building principles that are basic to our foundation and must never be lost.

Like her or not, Gov. Sarah Palin is an important part of our country's future leadership, and hopefully her children will be inspired to do great things too.

A little perspective please people!!!!!!
Except for the wardrobe bought for her, Sarah normally buys her clothes in a second hand boutique where the sales go to support charity work. The wedding bands on hers and Todd's hands cost $35. HOW can you buy a wedding ring that cheap that doesn't turn your finger green?

The campaign clothing was and is scheduled to be sold or auctioned off for charity.

Unlike Queen Michelle the First and, hopefully, last she doesn't order lobster appetizers, TWO broiled lobsters, IRANIAN cavier and Bollinger champagne for a light snack. I've seen the receipt and it's legit.

Thanks to all who will stand up in support of Governor Palin and family.

Agreed 100%. And if we get to make a lib foam at the mouth on the way to the polls, it's just gravy!

I am with you.

You say:
Experience aside, her character is what makes her unfit for office.

I say:
A 100% better "character" than your "chosen one"
So, why are you voting for him? Does he make your leg tingle?

America depends on the first thing…

‘How does she have such a beautiful perspective? Because she sees the power, value, necessity and joy inherent in each individual life.’ -Marjorie Dannenfelser

Again, this is the reason Mrs. Palin is so hated by the Left. She represents those who see ‘the value inherent in those deemed imperfect’. Well said Marjorie.

She is a reminder that the Left doesn’t see the worth and potential of the individual. All they can see is a serf of the state. Those deemed imperfect or unwanted are of no value to the state.

See focuses the differences in world view and exposes the bankruptcy of their pathetic ideology. The worth of men is not measured in their value to the state. Mrs. Palin understands the first thing about man and about the Constitution. Christian or not, all men have infinite worth based on the image they bear of the Personal and Infinite I AM.

Everything else depends on this whether it be the right to life, civil liberty, religious freedom, the right of self defense or the right to own property including the fruits of labor.

So, it is of no surprise that those who oppose Mrs. Palin are the same ones opposed to these things that most of us associate with America. They are not only anxious to give away their own liberty, but hate those who oppose them.

Thanks to all who will stand up in support of Governor Palin and family.

Looking beyond the "dressing"
What frightens so many feminists is that Gov. Sarah Palin is a genuine woman. Clothing only serves to enhance one's appearance, much like parsley on an expensive dinner. It's not about the trimming!!! Gov. Palin is refreshing, she tells it as she sees it, and her devotion to family is obvious without the need for any special production. I find it extremely offensive that anyone would even question the RNC funding of their candidate's wardrobe. Few average citizens have wardrobes suitable for long-term public activities. I suppose it is easier to make wardrobe and issue than to try to discredit Gov. Palin's ability. She is the kind of role model I would want for the young girls and women of today.

Some of us have already put mrbmrb into the "scrollpast" category, which also includes such other posters as:
(*) hal dumbererahue
(*) wobbie (and his many "29" aliases)
(*) Lon and Lone
(*) Jack(daw) of PA
(*) Jeff(re)y of MI

Basically, you will not get a cogent argument from any of these (in some cases, such as Lone, even their English doesn't come cogently).

Pray that Harper's (albeit pyrrhic) victory will be repeated in the US with a McCain victory.

Sarah's character
I think Sarah is certainly to be commended for choosing to carry and care for a special needs child; this is an admirable facet of her character.

Other facets, however, are not so admirable-
Her penchant for seeing public office as her personal domain, such as firing anyone who disagreed with her in Wasilla, emphasising loyalty to her (instead of loyalty to an idea or cause) is troubling.

She seems to have this streak of personalizing conflicts, of petty vindictiveness that is dangerous in a person with power.

Add to this her eagerness to divide the nation (which she seeks to lead) into "Us" and "Them", and it paints a picture of a woman who doesn't see herself as an agent of a higher cause, but simply hungry for power.

Experience aside, her character is what makes her unfit for office.

Palin, an admirable woman
William, bless your heart! Governor Sarah Palin is an admirable woman, taking on the establishment like she is doing. I certainly agree with her pro life stance, and have found many Down's syndrome children to be a huge blessing in families and communities. Be careful how you run down other people who don't agree with your beliefs. She just happens to be right. History will show that.

William
"Anyone who knows anything about Sarah Palin knows she's a home-grown American hero, or perhaps I should say heroine."

Here we go again with ridiculous hyperbole.

How exactly is she a "hero"?

Has she saved anyone from a burning building? Under fire? Changed the course of mankind.

Of course not. Shes an ex beauty queen and ultra right wing government official paid for by the taxpayer.

Dont throw out words like hero, it demeans the word.

In the final anlysis. Palin is completely out of her league here running for VP.I know it and mot republicans knwo it. Evidence the lack of articles about here even here.

Anything written uses meaningless words like you just did. Because no one has anything positive to say about her policies (what policies?) and global knowledge (because ther isnt any).

Palin, the refreshing alternative
What a contrast to Joe Biden is Sarah Palin! Only the imprudent, angry, feminazi lemmings, swept up in a sea of illuminati, elitist flotsam by a disingenuous media cohort, could not see this woman for who she is. Go, Sarah!

Mrs. Palin needs our prayers
She demonstrates to those of us who are daily told that we would be much happier and more successful if only we would *loosen up* and drop all the *judgmental poses* that make people so uncomfortable ... and she shows how to beat the angry kiddie lobby, by rising above them.

Pray that she continues to remain serene in the face of concentrated ugliness. She is an example to all who face a daily world of bullies.

Sarah Palin - an heroic woman
Anyone who knows anything about Sarah Palin knows she's a home-grown American hero, or perhaps I should say heroine. She Rocks. In spite of the best efforts of the American press and Democratic party to destroy her, she's risen about it all, maintained her integrity, and has served as a role model. She lives what she says. She obviously believes what she says. She isn't just an empty suit, or dress, saying only those things she thinks we want to hear. She isn't just a politician.

Barack Obama, on the other hand is truly scary. The more we learn about him, the worse it gets. If you're curious about Barack Obama and haven't yet gone to my blog, then go. http://billlong.blogtownhall.com. If you agree with my conclusions then please let others know about it. The truth needs to get out - now.

mrbmrb
A classic post.

Nonsensical.

Try reading her positions before posting totally inane comments on threads.

Seems that defines you.

How about????
Wonder how Palin feels about abortions to preserve the life and ?or the health of the mother? Mum is evidently the word. She is so proud of what she will tell us about her belief on abortion its a wonder that she hasnt ssaid anything about this. Is she against abortion under any circumstances. If not, what circumstances is she in favor of it. Why so silent on it.
