Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Thousands of union members rallied for Obamacare on Capitol Hill today in a massive display of union outreach that threatened to deliver more votes for a controversial “public plan” option.

The rally came on the heels of Obama raising the possibility that unions would be exempt from taxing health care benefits. Obama said he was open to imposing new taxes on Americans who are not union members, which is a principle he adamantly opposed during his presidential campaign.

The hypocrisy was easily explained by one Republican strategist who was closely following health care developments on the Hill.

"Is it any surprise that unions are one of he greatest contributors to the Democratic party, and that they're now exempt from one of the most controversial taxes he's considering?" he asked. "It's not illegal, but gosh, does it look bad."

Unions were pushing for new health care legislation this year that would, in theory, cover nearly 50 million uninsured Americans. There was a star-studded line up at the rally, including actress Edie Falco, Sens. Sherrod Brown, Chuck Schumer and Bob Menendez, and Howard Dean. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU), ACORN, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and Health Care For America NOW! were the primary sponsors.

Falco talked about the perils of health insurance in her industry.

"I'm here because I've traveled through the health care system and there are some holes," said Falco, who played a nurse on popular sitcom The Sopranos. Her experience with breast cancer during her acting career lead her to "care about the people in this country" when it came to health issues.

AFSCME Legislative Director Chuck Loveless said the government plan option was essential to bringing down the overall cost of health insurance, just as the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released its official estimate of the cost of health insurance at $1 trillion over 10 years.

“It’s extremely important that insurance companies have to compete with a government plan option. And if the government plan option is not in he mix, we’re not gonna get the kind of reform that we want to see," said Loveless.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) also expressed optimism at the possibility of the plan bringing down costs, though he did not specify how the $1 trillion would be paid for.

Perhaps the new option of taxing non-union health benefits is one way the money might be found.

Sorry, already got one....
Don't we already have a number of public options? After all, there is Medicare, which has contributed greatly to cost shifting by paying no more than 80% of what private insurance pays. Then there is VA. VA is a medical system that has problems with aging facilities, under-paid staff, malfunctioning equipment, and long waits. Most of the Vets that I know (and I'd have to include myself in that number) would rather pay 100% out of pocket than darken the door of a VA facility.
If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, how is the hope that this time the government can get health care right anything other than sheer insanity?

Democratic Party filthy-rotten & corrupt

Unnamed Republican strategist: "Is it any surprise that unions are one of he greatest contributors to the Democratic party, and that they're now exempt from one of the most controversial taxes he's considering?" he asked. "It's not illegal, but gosh, does it look bad."

The Democratic Party is so filthy-rotten and corrupt it sickens me. I almost find myself wishing sometimes they would get their way, which would nearly destroy our country in the process, so that the God-hating, America-hating democratic party and all of their ideology would be exposed in the light of truth for all to see, and then outlawed and forever shamed into silence, like the Nazi party was in Germany after WWII.

And we may be on that road. I am terribly sorry our country appears destined to be be torn apart and torn down, before good men will step forward and make it great once again.

are you uninsured?
If you are uninsured and does not have insurance, you should check out the website http://UninsuredAmerica.blogspot.com -California

Fascist-care medical coverage part I
I got this surprise from my brother-in-law, Jerry tonight:

"Have you heard that Senator Dianne Feinstein made comments on CNN undermining President Obama's push for health care reform?

We can't afford not to fix health care this year. That's why we need to convince Senator Feinstein to stand with President Obama, stand up for Californians, and stand against health insurance corporations.

I just signed a letter to Senator Feinstein from the Courage Campaign and CREDO Mobile urging her to support President Obama's plan and the "public option" he supports.

Will you join me in signing this short letter before Monday at 9 a.m.? Here's the link. Once you click it, it only takes a few seconds to add your name:"

http://www.couragecampaign.org/StandUpSenator

I could not believe it! I answered with what follows in part II

Fascist-care coverage part II
JERRY

I don't think I want my well being, health or otherwise, under the control of any smiley-face fascist. I won't have him 'Giving me permission' to go see any doctor I want to. How DARE him! Who the hell does he think he is? He has no authority to give me or anyone else 'permission' of any kind to get the help from whatever doctor that we need. That's NOT in his work description. He sure as HELL has no authority to put a crooked Chicago bureaucrat in charge of my health care so he can tell me "NO, fool, you're too old to qualify for a new heart valve! Here, let me give you a prescription for some Happy-Time dope so you don't worry about it." I just dumped one HMO and went to my old company PPO insurance system because of that. I'm sure not going to willingly accept an OBAMA HMO, along with it's rationing of care to only those who are fit to be given medical care! I'd rather trust the Geico Gecko. At least, he has some credibility. And a grip on reality.

Fascist-care part III
But then, that's not quite fair. I think he's very intelligent. Or maybe cunning would be more accurate. He has a vision of what he wants to do with this country. He knows exactly what he's doing, and making the moves to get what he wants, down the road. He's bringing this country down so that he can rebuild it in his own image of reality. A world run by crooked union officers and that even more crooked ACORN! It's easy to understand why states such as Vermont, Texas, Montana and Alaska want to remove themselves from the union that Mr. Marxist Obama envisions. For his own sake, I hope he's tripled the depth of the protective Secret Service around him. He may very well need at least that much. It would not surprise me to see various states take what ever measures become necessary to stop this guy. A new constitutional convention to put reinforcment into our national constitution's federal government restrictions and state's rights, called by the individual state governments, would be a good place to start. That's what Appeals Court Judge Nepolitano on Fox News thinks should be done....

Hopefully, the True Messiah will make his authority felt on the earth, and replace this faker before he can do too much damage.

Fight Obamacare!
Universal health care would be an absolute disaster for the nation and if it gets implemented, we'll never get rid of it.

That said, Edie Falco was the wife of Tony Soprano on The Sopranos. Not a nurse on a popular sitcom. Details..details... makes the article distracting even though I don't take my health care advice from Hollywood. Besides, nice to know she only "cared about the people in the country" only after she got ill. She cares so much she wants to shackle them to a gov't bureaucracy for the most intimate relationship you can have with someone outside family i.e. doctor/patient.

Liberals have nothing between their ears. Ms Falco's talents have not extended into critical thinking.

Fight Obamacare!
The only people who've advocated Obamacare have never lived with it. Obama himself already said he'd take his own family out of the system if they needed care not covered by his own program. Nice to know only the rich--lefties so despise--will be able to opt out as long as they've got the cash to pay for it.

As for Ms Falco, it appears her superb acting talents have deprived her from critical thinking in real life. Nice to know she only cared about others in her own country after she became ill and thinks the way to "care" is to take away their choice of health care and send them into the massive bureaucracy that is the US government. Why do Obama and Edie Falco hate poor people to do this to them?

One last thing: A glaring error in the article states Ms Falco was a nurse on the popular sitcom "The Sopranos". Ah, no. She was the very serious wife of Tony Soprano in the very serious drama on HBO. Details..details..but makes the article distracting.

Media's to blame
If the mainstream media in this country was actually doing it's job, there would be a huge outcry about so much that's going on with the Obama administration. The fact that the small print in Obama's health care plan exempts not only union but also government workers from having their health care taxed should be screamed in headlines. Alot of people are only just beginning to wake up to the fact that they have been bamboozled by the propaganda of left leaning journalists. Hope it's not too late.

Just part of the Liberal agenda.

Two class society.

The Liberal elites, and those who service them.

one payer health care
If this passes, sooner or later even the unions will be taxed. I say this because either we are or know someone who is a member or retired member of a union. There are not enough NON union people to pay for all of this. It amazes me that people just don't see this. And you know the goverment is going to put unreal guideline and prices that NON goverment insurance can't not meet and stay in business. Then down the line you will see deterioating care.Especially if there are no co-pays. Like everyone is on MEDICAID.

Bring down health care costs
If the government pays the health care premiums, that will be a reduction in costs for everyone! Right? I have forgotten how the government gets the money to pay for all this. Maybe they will get it by making illegal aliens into good citizens. Thats it!

A different tax code for unions?
"The rally came on the heels of Obama raising the possibility that unions would be exempt from taxing health care benefits. Obama said he was open to imposing new taxes on Americans who are not union members"

This can't be legal. When was this said? Anyone know?

True Obama voters
The idiots that voted him in don't care what it cost. They'll never have to pay. They just want free stuff and don't understand history or the real strength of this country and it's economy. They won't bother to investigate. Moderates and independents are waking up and will have to make their voices heard. Call your congress people!!! We need competition in order to bring the costs of health insurance down and the government can never be a true competitor... too much power. This will drive private businesses out of the marketplace, which is exactly what Obama plans long-term. He said as much on the campaign trail.

Why wouldn't they support Odumbo's plan?
The unions are all for Odumbo's health care proposal because they will be exempt from the taxes on health care benefits, leaving all of us serfs to foot the bill. The Dumbocrook party is owned lock, stock and barrel by the unions so they will do whatever the unions want them to do. So what if it bankrupts those who choose not to belong to a union? They believe that is what we deserve for refusing to join their thugocracy. The hubris and arrogance of this bunch is breathtaking.

Not 50 million
The commonly used number of uninsured in the United States is 45.657 million people and is from the The Census Bureau's website.
Go to http://www.census.gov/prod/2008pubs/p60-235.pdf and scroll down to Table 6.

You will note 1) the latest numbers are for 2007 and 2) there is a heading "not a citizen" and 9,737 million or 21% are included in the 45 million. You will also note that even if you wanted to give the non citizens health care, 13.539 million are in families with family income less than $25,000 per year and thus eligible fro Medicaid and 9.115 million are in families earning over $75,000 per year and probably could afford to purchase insurance. Thus 50% of the uninsured could easily be taken care of by existing means.

Obamacare & the Unions
First off; are we about to create a two tiered tax system? Who needs 'card check' if a union organizer can walk into any company and say; "Remember that cafeteria decuction you used to get on your insurance premiums? All you have to do is organize a union and you'll get that deduction back!"

Second; the most often repeated phrase of this debate has been "We won't run private insurance out of business." I have a question relating to that. Can anyone name a health care company offering policies competing agfainst Medicare for seniors? I know that there are plenty of 'bridge' policies that are offered by different insurance companies. But all those are supplementary policies aimed at covering the gaps in Medicare coverage. I cannot think of one private company that tries to 'compete' head-to-head in the marketplace for senior health care with Medicare. If Obamacare in any form is passed, eventually it will be the only option for all Americans. The reason for this is simple, government run programs, unlike private companies, don't have to post profits to remain viable.

Obama
Our liar in chief.

Anyone tell me
How can it be legal to exempt union members from taxes in health insurance? Can anyone tell me what the rational for this is. I suspect it is only to pander to his union base but is it legal?

Plan not for Obama
He says he will not participate.

Diane - Is It Legal?
The Constitution and its Amendments are such trivial things.

"Our taxes show how much we care."

First of All, Debate
Does anyone else feel like we're really getting to "debate" this issue? Does anybody else feel Rahm-rodded like me? Do you think we're even focusing on the correct problem?

Tom in NC (reply #16)posted some key facts and posits that the number of uninsureds is surely less than the numbers bandied about (and we all know it's about the power grab and not about the "uninsured" anyway). He left out the fact that a significant number are also in the 18-29 yr old age bracket and consider themselves "bulletproof" and therefore choose go without insurance. Many later regret this decision when they become ill and complain about the bad old insurer's insistence on pre-existing condition clauses. But I digress.

Do we need to overhaul the entire system to fix the problem for a number of people that is significantly less than the 45-47 million that's commmonly used (50 million for the liberal that has taken the time to read this far...the numbers grow rapidly)?

Before this is over
we're going to see the unions transformed into a nationwide staffing arm of the govt. Cataloging skills w/ the unions will become necessary for employment.

If this passes & you want decent healthcare you're going to have to have signed on the dotted line for card check wherever you work thus becoming a "temp" union member to receive a tax break on your healthcare. In return the unions income will sky rocket from all the new dues.

Partnering healthcare and card check are the two vehicles that get unions into every level of business in this nation. Making everyone a hostage of the unions.

"We won't pay for you to live...
... but we'll pay for you to die."

The case of Barbara Wagner, a Springfield woman with lung cancer, drew the ire of Dr. Ken Stevens, former chairman of the radiation oncology department at Oregon Health and Science University.

The Oregon Health Plan, the state plan for low-income residents, reportedly would not cover Wagner's chemotherapy drug but would pay for aid in dying.

In other words, "We won't pay for you to live, but we'll pay for you to die," Stevens said. A pharmaceutical company stepped in and paid for the drug.

re: The Ruse!!!
Look, this is the biggest joke other than that place in Penn. where there are these steam Locomotives there and no one comes to the park to see this but there is litterly millions of $ spent on upkeep of these trains and the park!!! Yet, the one that wins out is the clowns with the RR unions that pay 15 people full pay to sit and watch these trains all day!!! Yesiree, unions will not pay a health tax on nothing with this dinosuar!!! And, Oh yea, none of the clown politicians in Wash. will be on this "Public Option!!" THIS IS AN OUT OF CONTROL GOV. AND I AM GETTING FED UP WITH THE CRAP THAT THESE CLOWNS COME UP WITH EVERYDAY!!!!

First of All, Debate II
Next, let's distinguish between health care (providing a service and charging a fee for that service) and health care financing through an insurance contract (a payment mechanism whereby one party promises to make a payment for specified, covered charges in exchange for a periodic premium payment). Granted, limited by space, my definitions are somewhat abbreviated. Most people are upset with the "health care system" but are they talking about the providers of care or are they upset with the insurer? Do we need to address waiting times for services and outcomes or are people mad about the level of deductibles, copays and/or premiums?

The "univeral" solutions for any of these problems will be different and will have unintended and unforseen consequences for someone who may be totally satisfied with what they currently have.

Surveys consistenly indicate a high percentage of respondents (80%+) are satisfied with their current health plan (is that health care or health insurer?). That's an astounding level of satisfaction and does not indicate a need to overhaul an entire segement of the economy. In my opinion, this is a little like the results of the satisfaction survey about Congress where results showed a 9% satisfaction level, yet a majority of Congress was reseated in the last election.....my health care is OK, but we have to fix the problem for everybody else. C'mon sheeple, think a little and let's debate which problem needs to be fixed and by how much.

Say it Ain't So, Jilian
Just when I was beginning to warm up to your columns, you go and write "...said Falco, who played a nurse on popular sitcom The Sopranos."

Have you never heard of The Sopranos? It was not exactly a sitcom. Nor did Edie play a nurse. The show was about a mafia family, and it was possibly the best TV show of all time. And Edie Falco did a fantastic job as the mafia don's wife - Carmella; I would argue that her body of work from that show alone puts her above all TV actresses, in history.

That's a pretty significant error, Jilian. And makes me question your cultural awareness, and the accuracy of your more critical contentions.

Are we really so stupid
as to believe Unions are anything other than traitors to the country, doing what they can to destroy Capitalism and destroy YOUR spirit? Cornerstone has the right idea. This is taxation withoiut representation, as is the Climate bill.

a fools approach
Wow, tow the party line and you will be justly rewarded. The multi-pronged assault on non-union members of America continues on. Join a union and receive free healthcare for life, possible government takeover of your company, and a predetermined outcome in court.

Cornerstone
You wrote: " C'mon sheeple, think a little and let's debate which problem needs to be fixed and by how much."

Your right and having looked at the dissatisfaction from countries which have socialized health care, what the messiah proposes is more of the same.

To top that, not only will be paying a part of unionized health care, we are going to be picking up the tab for people who don't and w0n't work.

When physician's and nurse's salary start to decline, we'll have to replace them with skilled (?) labor from overseas. And we aren't going to get the caliber of the doctors' who created cardiac bypass either.

A friend of mine's son was hospitalized for knee surgery and he is also a diabetic. Thye nurse was orde3red to give him 6 units of regular insulin. The pharmacy sent up 6 ccs' of insulin, she gave it and the patient Bottomed out with sugar levels so low they had to spend most of the night giving him high glucose IV medication. Think that's bad?
Just wait.

Lets HOPE that they keep this in
Hope its in the bill; but doesn't pass.
This is a guarantee that the DEMS will have massive losses in 2010 ...

So far with Obama we have

1) CAP and Trade :raises taxes on everyne
2) Bailout central of GM/Chrysler :unioin payout
3) Tax Exemption for health ins : ANOTHER union pay out
4) Stimulus that hasnt done squat.
5) Deficits as far as the eye can see....
6) i can keep going on an on

However I do see a double edge sword. If republicans do get a large chunk of power back, and reign in Obama... He can run again under the false heading of a "Moderate".... which we know isnt even close to the truth...

Mandated Health Care
Do you all even realize that he could sign a bill that would MANDATE that we have insurance and we will have a FINE if we opt out.

Obama said that in order to keep the costs down - they cannot have healthy people opting out of insurance - I.E. he needs our money to help pay for the coverage of others.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Brown Shirts Of The Democrats!
I Hope the UAW and all union, jobs are lost in this Economic crisis.I call for all American's, to stop buying American made Union products. And then that nest of Liberals will be no more. Unions are the brown shirts of the new Democrat Nazi Party.THAY MUST BE STOPED!!

Study the book of Revelation...
Gasoline is going up so what is NObamaElMessiah's response?

Raise taxes on each gallon of gas and every BTU of non-vehicle energy.

40 million Americans need help in getting healthcare, so what is NObamaElMessiah's response?

Raise taxes on all Americans who are not a member of the communist party, errrr I mean Union....
As in United Soviet States of America. U.S.S.A

Or, the way I prefer to describe it....

UNLESS YOU BEAR THE MARK OF THE BEAST.

The CHANGE we Christian have long been expecting.

Just Curious...
Do any of the conservatives here ever bother to think about what they write? Brown shirts of the Democrat Nazi Party? Do you even care how insulting that is? Not to mention, nowhere near analogous. Or how unchristian it is to call the President "NObamaElMessiah." When did Christ ever say, "Thou shall ridicule your opponent with insulting names."

Christians act very unchristian at times...

economy
73% of voters now say that Obama is a Liberal and that is not likely to change considering his policies.During the last few months his personal approval rating has fallen 8 percentage points, mostly because of his spending programs and lack of results. There is a much better chance, if this trend continues, for moderates and conservatives in the up-coming elections in 2010.

Say NO to socialized medince!
Contact your members of Congress and let them know you oppose Obama's proposed government run health care.

http://www.conservativeoutpost.com/campaign/say_no_socializ ed_medicine

The C word.
73% of voters probably think being a liberal is a good thing. The name "conservative" now stands for bad foreign policy decision making, sex scandals, pork belly spending, lax corporate governance, and financial disaster.

According to a NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll on June 15 21% of Americans have a positive view of the Republicans (www.pollingreport.com). Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE FRONT AND CENTER OF THE NEW OAGENDA OF THE JIM CROW DEMOCRATS KNOWN AS THE OBAMANATION OF DIVERSITY. THE DEATH OF HEALTH CARE AS OBAMA WANTED IT IS DEAD, TOO MANY OF CONGRESS WHERE FACING ELECTION WOOS BEHIND THE ENORMOUS COST OF THE OBAMA HEALTH CARE PLAN. INSTEAD OF FIGHTING A BATTLE THAT HE CLAIMS LED TO THE CLINTON MIDTERM HE WILL REFOCUS AND RESHAPE THE HEALTH CARE PLAN TO INCLUDE PRIVATE CARE INSTEAD OF UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. THE ILLEGAL ALIEN REFORM PROPOSAL WHICH HE AND FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JOHN MC CAIN HAVE WORKED ON IS STILL ROBBING AMERICA OF MUCH NEEDED ASSETS TO PROVIDE FOR THOSE LIVING IN THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY WHILE IGNORING THE RIGHTS OF THOSE LIVING IN THE COUNTRY LEGALLY.

UNIONS SUPPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS
UNLESS UNION MEMBERS ARE BEING REWARDED FOR SUCH SUPPORT, IT MAKES NO SENSE BUT IF THE UNITED STATES GIVES THE WORKERS AMNESTY THEN UNIONS WOULD FIGHT FOR THERE BACK PAY ON UNION SCALE. THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME FORM OF RACISM THAT HAVE EVER BEEN CONCEIVED IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. DID THE ILLEGAL ALIENS REPLACE ON THE JOBS THEY WORKED? MINORITY UNION WORKERS OF OTHER STATES. THE ELITIST HAVE BEEN PAYED OFF AND THE GAY COALITION HAVE BEEN PAID OFF, THE RELIGIOUS DEVIANTS PAID OFF, THE COMMUNITY ACTIVIST ALL BEEN PAID OFF. WHO WILL BE FORCED TO PAY THE BILL CIVIL SERVANT UNION MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY. THIS INCLUDE THE GAY COALITION OF CALIFORNIA AND PAKERS UNION.

Unions To Get Dues from ObamaCare

At the next press conference, wouldn't you love to see Major Garrett (or someone else with a brain and a conscience) ask, "Mr. President, would you look away from the teleprompter for just a moment and look directly into the camera and explain to the ranks of legal, non-union workers in the country that you lead why they are not deserving of the same privileges you wish to guarantee union members?"

Talk about discrimination!
Hey if you're a black union member do you get a case of afro sheen as a bonus?

Civil War Part Duex
Have you forgotten why the civil war was started, oh that's right the education system has been rewritten to serve another purpose. Well reread it, and you'll find the Civil War began because the Union Industrial North placed taxes on the South. Sound familiar? In times such as these I can visualize the citizens of that era engaging in the same discussions we're having today, technology being the major difference good or otherwise. Question is what will we do in our era of history?

"It's not illegal, but gosh, does it look bad."
Yeah, give me some of what he's smoking.
First, taxes constitutionally can be for one pupose only and that is to raise revenue for Common Defense, General Welfare as enumerated in Article 1, Section 8, and to pay debt. Taxes cannot be imposed arbitrarily or selectively or the laws authorizing them are de facto bills of attainder.
Second, though unions themselves are legal as people have the right of association the "laws" such as the Wagner act are in fact ILLEGAL, as the federal government is not empowered under the US constitution to dictate to private businesses in any way.
Third, as the federal government does not have the legal authority for either idictating to private citizens or stealing their money to provide for other people, those that engage in such(I mean the President and Congressmen)are in fact engaging in crimes against the people and as they are acting extra-legally or outside of the scope of their authority, it is our right to also go outside the law and engage in the only recourse left when there is no to lawfully mediate, and that is taking up arms. If you do not understand this try reading the Declaration of Independence a few times.

Unions are dinosaurs!
They kill commerce. Yet...,Barry Dunham a.k.a. Jimmy Carter Jr. a.k.a. Barack Hussein Obama pays them tribute!

Our POTUS truly could NOT run a successful lemonade stand.

It's so dirty!

Thanks to EVERYONE who posts here that helped elect an ACORN facilitator to POTUS. What geniuses you are.

Sad huh? I have ever so much more respect for my TOTUS than my POTUS!

The only good a union . . .
did me was fight AGAINST a raise for me. My employer wanted to reward me for additional skills that I developed and utilized for the benefit of the company I worked for. The raise offer was a substantial amount ($4000 per year).
When the union (that I was forced to "belong" to due to Michigan being a "agency shop" state with a "union security clause") caught wind of it they stated that if I got a raise, ALL union members must get an equivalent raise. Here I am PAYING "union dues" (for TWO years) to a "union" that fought against me and the company. It took a contract "negotiation" when the contract was due to expire to finally reward my expertise.
I might add that the "union" that I "belonged" to has its roots in acorn.
I am aware of the "Beck decision".
It may be easy for others to say that the company should have given me a management position; the union contract prohibited non-contract employees from performing the work.

The Fair American Insurance Reform Act
The problem we have with healthcare in this country is tied directly to the fact that congress and federal employees do not live under the same rules as the rest of us. If they did they would probably do a better job of making it work for us.

The system is just not fair. Let's make them make it fair by showing them what true healthcare reform looks like and demand they pass it. It does not need to be complicated, the Posse Comitatus Act was very short and served well enough for over 100 years.

How about this?

The Fair American Insurance Reform Act 2
The Fair American Insurance Reform Act of 2009. Hereafter the FAIR Act

No elected member of the US Senate or Member of the US House of Representatives shall be entitled to any federally funded healthcare plan. Members may purchase private healthcare plans provided they make publicly available information regarding the cost, terms and conditions of the plan.

Any private company selling a healthcare plan to a member of the US House or US Senate shall be required to make the same plan available to all of the residents of the Senate or House Member’s home state at the same price and under the same terms and conditions.

The federal government shall not provide any healthcare plan to federal employees.

Federal employees shall be entitled to a healthcare plan voucher equal to $12,000. The value of this voucher shall be indexed to inflation. Federal employees may use this voucher to purchase any privately offered healthcare insurance plan available in the employee’s state of residence. They may also choose to use the voucher as part of an MSA and if a part of the voucher is unused in the purchase of high deductable insurance the employee may have the balance deposited in their personal MSA account.

A fully refundable income tax credit shall be made available to any citizen for the full amount of the cost of any healthcare plan and/or non-reimbursed medical expenses, dental expenses or mental health care expenses up to the total aggregate of those costs and expenses or $12,000, whichever is less. The value of this tax credit shall be indexed to inflation.

The Fair American Insurance Reform Act 3
This act shall not apply to healthcare plans provided by the various branches of the US Military to current or former members of the US Military provided the healthcare plan is available to any current or former member of the US Military and provided the care and services levels provided are based on military service without regard to any other government service or employeement.

This act shall become effective 60 days after full passage into law.

The judicial branch of the federal government is denied jurisdiction regarding the constitutionality of this act. The judicial branch is granted jurisdiction regarding the enforcement of this act.

Any citizen of the US shall have standing in any federal court to bring suit for the purposes of requiring the compliance with this act by any member of the US Senate, US House or any private healthcare plan provider. A citizen prevailing in the prosecution of their rights under this act shall be entitled to recovery of actual damages, reasonable attorneys fees and punitive damages not to exceed ten times actual damages and attorney’s fees from the opposing party. Federal funds may not be used to reimburse or otherwise cover the costs of providing a defense to elected officals found to be in violation of this act.

For the purposes of this act “healthcare plan” means any HMO, managed care, PPO, MSA or general catastrophic insurance plan designed to cover the costs of medical care, dental care or mental health care.

To those of you who oppose the destruction of America by Obama and the liberals in Washington, D.C.....

Are all of you ready for the 4th of July Tea Party Protest Rally near you? In over 1,200 cities all across America, the Silent Majority is Silent No More. We are making our posters and bringing our friends, families and a picnic. We can't be silent any more- our country is crumbling all around us, our elected officials are ignoring the will of the people.

Every single house member who voted for the Cap-n-Tax crappola should be booted out in 2010, and the Silent Majority has a mighty big boot.

The Silent Majority is going to roar on July 4, and every single one of us needs to be there to add our voice to the roar. Now, before its too late. Find out when and where in your local cities and towns and make it a point to be there. Independence Day is the perfect day to defend our freedom.

To say that you are one of the most uninformed stupid morons on the planet would be an understatement. 73 percent think it is a good thing to be a liberal. Oh really then why are liberals such a huge minority. I have never seen a liberal with any intelligence what so ever. We now have the two most stupid people in history in the White House. And it sure shows why affirmative action should not exist.
