Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

GOP presidential candidate John McCain released his 2006 and 2007 tax returns Friday, showing he earned more than $740,396 in the last two years combined---$45,261 of which comes from Social Security.

The forms are available to the public HERE.

The Arizona senator also received $114,854 for his Navy pension.

During those two years McCain paid $157,231 in federal taxes.

McCain donates his royalties from books and Senate pay increases to charity, most of which has gone to the John and Cindy McCain Family Foundation.

The royalties from his books have totaled more than $1.8 million since 1998 and those from his pay increase more than $450,000.

A statement from the campaign about the tax form release states “Beginning in 1991, Senator McCain has also donated the increase in his Senate salary for that year and each subsequent year to charity because he opposed the Congressional pay increase at that time and pledged not to accept the pay raises.”

In 2006 the John and Cindy McCain Family Foundation dispersed $187,639 to various charities which supported education programs, animal welfare and rehabilitation for craniofacial abnormalities. In 2007, the foundation dispersed $78,250 to many of the same groups.

McCain’s wife, Cindy, is a millionairess, but she does not file jointly with her husband. The McCain campaign notes “Senator and Mrs. McCain have kept their personal finances separate throughout their 27-year marriage.”

Cindy McCain’s estimated worth is $100 million.

McCain is over 70 so he can make as much money as he wants and it does not effect the amount he collects from social securtiy. My beef is he contributed $78,250 in 2007 to charities. If I made as much tax free money as he does and only gave that pitiful amount to charity, I would be ashamed of myself!!!

McCain and Social Security
Pay no attention to Carpenter if she is incapable of explaining something as simple as a man was paid $XXX in 2006 and $XXX in 2007. Lumping two different things in multiple years in such a way raises questions about her ability to understand and explain.
I resent paying into social security, that my kids pay and my grand kids will pay into the awful program. I do not understand why anyone would support this program, nor do I understand why anyone would support an increase in the cap amount. Just examine the fiscal folly. Would you put your money into a bank if they told you upon deposit is was now their money not yours, they can and will change the rules of payout and you will live by their ever changing rules? Hardly.
I have a great difficulty with the means testing idea. This is simply a way to take more from people who earn a lot by their own wise choices. The people who make other choices that keep them in the lower income pool have a right to those choices, but not to my money. Want more, make smart decisions about your income potential.
