Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

“If Hillary gets elected at least we’ll get the silverware back!” she quipped.

In her remarks, Coulter said she was certain McCain would not nominate any judges for the Supreme Court “without checking with his good friend Teddy Kennedy.”

“I don’t think my girl Hillary is going to listen to Teddy Kennedy anymore!” Coulter said, taking a shot at Kennedy’s decision to endorse Obama over Clinton.

Coulter compared McCain to former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, who also service in the military. Coulter noted Democrats believed Kerry would win because, “Oh, he’s a war hero.”

“That’ll work,” Coulter said sarcastically. “I predict our strategy will work as well as it did for the Democrats.”

Coulter noted Barack Obama’s popularity briefly. She said his biggest selling point was “he is one of the least dangerous people I know named Hussein.”

“His first big accomplishment was being born half-black,” Coulter said. “He wouldn’t be running for President if he weren’t half-black.’

She said she would be able to help Clinton’s campaign because “I actually know some black people.”

Higene - ''There are no liberals''
--
Says Higene:

"'Liberal' is a term like 'Yankee'. It was coined by the opponent...."

Er, no. "Capitalist" is an example of a pejorative term coined by the opponent (Marx and Engels, in *Das Kapital*), in said case to provide a negative descriptor for those who had hitherto been described most accurately as advocates of the free market.

"Free market" has positive connotations. Marx and Engels needed something that sounded nasty and hateful; thus "capitalist" was brought forth.

Modern American advocates of government control of the economy are, properly speaking, better described as "socialists" or "fascists," but these are terms that have appropriately accrued highly negative connotations. They have been tried elsewhere in the world, and have proven stupid, counterproductive, wasteful, and murderous.

Modern American socialists, therefore, have embraced other terms for their policies, such as "Progressive" and "Populist," and have even appropriated the 19th Century term "Liberal."

This is especially ripe because the 19th Century liberals (e.g., France's Frederic Bastiat) were the earliest *OPPONENTS* of socialism when it first appeared in France and England early in that Century.

Amazing. The enemies of liberalism are now complaining that their thieving use of their opponents' descriptor is now being unfairly used to pejoratize *THEM*.

Delicious irony.

So degraded by American socialists is the term "Liberal" that those of us who stand for "classical liberal" principles have had to take up a new usage for the philosophical term "libertarianism" in order to describe our advocacy of individual rights.

Higene, if you socialists are finished with the term "Liberal," those of us who are *REAL* liberals would like it back now.
