Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS

A recent court decision regarding the direct challenge to Florida’s Parental Rights In Education Act came down with both sides reaching a settlement. Many in the press are calling this a defeat for Governor Ron DeSantis, with some stating this “brought changes,” or that the law “doesn’t survive the court challenge intact.” Others are trumpeting the changes for actions now allowed in classrooms.

Only issue: The settlement sees the law completely unchanged. Nothing at all has been altered, and all of the “new” items said to be allowed were never forbidden in the first place. All this has done is clarify what some districts had wrongfully curtailed when they overreacted out of caution.

Glossary Over Things – HUFFINGTON POST

  • Hey, it is close enough to horrible so we can run this legally without responsibility.

You get the sense of desperation from these unter-journalists wanting to smear Donald Trump in the worst way possible. They try to affix the prefix of “4-times indicted,” or “the man facing more than 90 criminal charges…, ” and the like.

At HuffPo, you feel its frustration in wanting desperately to label him the worst way possible, but still have to toe the line of legality. So this is what we end up getting delivered.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • “It would be terrible to see Trump politicize an agency like Biden has done.”

On the PBS panel show “Washington Week With The Atlantic,” host Jeffrey Goldberg had on New York Times book reviewer Carlos Lozada to discuss the State of the Union and — of course — a looming threat of a Trump presidency. Lozada expressed concern with some items he spotted recently in a book from The Heritage Foundation, seeing the issue of wanting more appointees in the executive branch as a means of balancing out the entrenched career partisans in the law enforcement agencies.

This addresses the issues seen in the Trump years where biased agents in the FBI and the intelligence community worked against his efforts. The amuse comes with Lozada’s concerns about this proposal:

Heritage wants to politicize the Justice Department…It’s very overt. They emphasize how, for instance, the White House Counsel’s Office and the DOJ have to work as a team. That’s a quote.

What is notable is the lack of fretting on the issue of Biden politicizing the Justice Department, such as the manner it has gone after January 6 defendants, or the recent arrest of journalist Steve Baker.

Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC

  • So you say anyone getting the name wrong is not very bright…?

Chris Hayes had a segment where he was covering the topic of Biden and Trump running together, and Hayes was in full DNC pimping mode, delivering a number of charts to show how much greater we are doing under Biden’s watch.

There was a comment made regarding his chart showing the drop in crime. (Of course, there were no factors looked at, such as the hesitancy to arrest or prosecute criminals contributing to this graph.) One commenter saw this portion and referenced the killing of the co-ed in Georgia at the hands of an illegal immigrant, and Hayes felt he had the cleverest of retorts.

This insult loses most of its venom once Hayes realizes the response was in direct reference to Joe Biden butchering Laken Riley’s name in this identical fashion.

DNC PR Firm – ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT

  • That peppy, vibrant, fiery president shows up again!

With the Special Counsel Robert Hur testimony and the transcripts of his five-hour interrogation of President Biden still vexing the press, credit to ABC News for at least giving some air time to the unflattering aspects of this development. Although, there were still shades of favoritism creeping in. All of the clips from the congressional hearing featured Democrats, and the more revealing details heard from Mr. Hur were not covered extensively.

Then when White House correspondent Mary Bruse was brought on to discuss the transcripts, while she did mention Biden meandering at times, the reporter who was full of “fiery” descriptions of the State of the Union speech last week returned with notably glowing impressions of Biden on paper:

But the President also offered vivid descriptions of years’ old events. He was conversational, he jokes around with the interviewers - and yes, he goes off on a few tangents, but that is not unusual for this president.
