As the 2024 election nears the corner, it's looking more like a match between former President Trump and President Joe Biden.
In this case, Trump must choose a vice president to help him unravel the destructive policies Biden has ensued on the country.
Even before announcing his second-third run for the White House, rumors have swirled about who Trump may pick as his sidekick. Unlike his first pick— former Vice President Mike Pence— Trump's partner would have to be someone he and the rest of the country could fully trust through thick and thin.
Over the summer, Pence was mocked by rally-goers following a campaign event in New Hampshire this weekend, calling him out for stabbing Trump in the back, calling him a "sell-out" and a "traitor."
According to reports, Trump is eyeing brain surgeon and former Trump Administration official Ben Carson as the "leading frontrunner" to serve as his running mate.

The Western Journal points out why Carson's proven "loyalty" would make him Trump's top pick:
Having experienced both persecution from bloodthirsty enemies and betrayal from nominal allies, Trump must prioritize loyalty. Carson, who served as secretary of housing and urban development in the Trump White House, has proved himself loyal to the former president. In October, the 72-year-old Carson gave Trump his "full endorsement" in the 2024 race. "Optimal pairing" also could mean that Trump recognizes his only true vulnerabilities with the Republican base. Carson's medical background, for instance, could assuage voters who have never forgiven Trump for listening to the charlatan Anthony Fauci. Likewise, Carson's Christian faith could attract voters who regard Trump's stance on abortion as too tepid and his words objectionable.
The outlet also noted that Carson would not be just a symbolic choice given his race but earned the vice presidency role solely based on his character, credibility, and intelligence.
However, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA.) offered his opinion on who Trump's VP should be.
Earlier this week, McCarthy said that 2024 GOP candidate Nikki Haley would be the "right person" to serve alongside Trump, arguing that he needs a running mate to win over Republican and independent voters who do not support Trump for a second term.
"If I was a political person, and I was going to advise somebody, you're going to pick the vice president that's about addition, not subtraction. So you're not going to pick somebody that already equates to you," McCarthy said. "Now if I was picking for purely political decisions, what it looks like today is the anti-Trump vote is going to Nikki Haley."
