As Democrats continue their push to indoctrinate and brainwash children, Republicans are taking a stand against the progressive effort.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) calls for a nationwide ban on transgender surgeries for children to stop "unspeakable harms."

During his opening statement of a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing on the "Dangers and Due Process Violations of Gender-Affirming Care for Children," Johnson demanded the protection of minors from the Left's continued harm. He said it should be just as important as general safety laws, such as wearing a seat belt, a minimum age for driving, drinking alcohol, and smoking.

The Republican criticized so-called "doctors" who perform such life-alternating medical procedures on minors despite not knowing the long-term side effects it may have.

As the American medical establishments have shown unanimous support for mutilating children, Johnson said the doctors who are performing the interventions "know almost nothing about the outcomes for these children."

Johnson also sounded the alarm of the "unspeakable harms on helpless children" that are being done by social pressures and academia when minors are so impressionable at such a young age.

"What is even more alarming is that the central tenet of the transgender movement and its allies is to exclude parents as much as possible from making decisions about the health of their own children," the Republican added, referring to a case from the New Orleans Children's Hospital where doctors "laughed in the face of a young girl's parents when they attempted to intervene as doctors sought to transition their daughter without their consent."

On the contrary, Democrats called it an "all-time low for the Republican majority" for their efforts to intervene with the progressive trans movement.

Subcommittee ranking member Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) claimed that Congress could not interfere with parents' decisions to allow their children to undergo gender-affirming care. However, she failed to remember that her own party has consistently pushed its progressive propaganda on minors on things they usually wouldn't think twice about.

"Congress has no business interfering in parents' freedom to make decisions about appropriate medical care for their children," Scanlon said. "The idea that politicians are more qualified to judge the medical value or necessity of 'gender-affirming care' than every major medical organization is absurd."

The Democrat argued that gender-affirming care has "changed children's lives for the better, and in many cases even save those lives."

Judiciary Committee ranking member Jerry Nadler (D-NY) also condemned Republicans who have fought to protect the lives of minors, calling it an attack on children.
