'More of These Boobs': Ala. Candidate Campaigns on Cleavage

Is cup-size recognition as good as name recognition?

For a bona fide Libertarian Party candidate in Alabama? You're dang skippy!

Loretta Nall, the Libertarian Party's write-in candidate for governor of Alabama, is campaigning on her cleavage and hoping that voters will eventually focus on her platform.

"It started out as a joke, but it blew up into something huge," said Nall, a 32-year-old with dyed blond hair.

Her campaign is offering T-shirts and marijuana stash boxes adorned with a photo of her with a plunging neckline and the words: "More of these boobs."

As for negative campaigning?

Below that are pictures of other candidates for governor including Republican incumbent Bob Riley and Democratic Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley and the words: "And less of these boobs."

Oooh, and she gots a blog. No video-blogging...yet, but she's on "Fox & Friends" on Thursday morning.

You can get a "boobs" T-shirt, here, and there's a rumor that a $50 donation will get you flashed, at least in cartoon form. But, hey, she's Libertarian-- it could go either way.

This reminds me of the time I was in an Athens, Ga. bar on a gamenight in 2004. It was early October, and tailgate campaigning was in full swing. I ran across a beautiful blonde girl in a low-cut, white strapless top with a "W" decal ironed on the front of it. I hugged her around the neck, spun her around to face my buddies and said, "This, my friends, is how you win an election!"

(Disclaimer: Yeah, yeah, I was joking around, and my new-found friend was in on the joke. It's not a statement of my actual political philosophy, so cut me a break.)

Of course, boobs aren't all it takes, but Loretta's got a killer slogan, too: "Vote for Nall, Y'all...It's Just Common Sense"
