In April, Townhall covered how more than 400 current and former Olympic, professional and collegiate athletes signed a letter to the NCAA urging them to not ban so-called “transgender” athletes from women’s sports.
“We call on you to be on the right side of history and affirm that sport is truly for us all,” the letter added. “Do not ban transgender women from NCAA women’s sports.”
Separate letters from over 300 academics and about 100 advocacy groups were also sent to the NCAA. Among the signatories were left-wing activist athletes like Meghan Rapinoe.
In a statement released by Athlete Ally, Rapinoe said, “The time is now for the NCAA and the nationwide athletic community to speak up and affirm that sports should be for everyone, including transgender athletes.”
During a recent Pride Parade, Rapinoe was pressed by a journalist about her stance on including men who believe they are “transgender” in women’s sports.
“Your U.S. women’s soccer team famously lost to high school boys. Do you really think it’s fair for these same boys to be competing in girls’ sports?” Katie Daviscourt with The Post Millennial asked Rapinoe.
Rapinoe laughed and stayed silent in response.
“Do you think it’s fair? Why should trans people compete against young girls? Do you not think that they’re going to get hurt?” Daviscourt added.
Rapinoe remained silent.

Last year, Rapinoe said in an interview that she would “absolutely” support having a biological male who thinks he is a woman take a spot on the United States women’s national soccer team, even if that meant taking a place from a biological female.
"Absolutely," she told Time when asked if she’d support a transgender being on the women’s team. "‘You’re taking a ‘real’ woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic. I see trans women as real women. What you’re saying automatically in the argument—you’re sort of telling on yourself already—is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way."
The United States women’s national soccer team lost to a bunch of 15-year-old boys, which was confirmed by player Carli Lloyd.
“Carli is it true you lost to a bunch of 15 year old boys?” she was asked on X, according to the New York Post.
“Yes it’s true,” Lloyd answered. “They were good.”
