2024 Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. denounced the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to boot former President Trump off the state's ballot.
In a social media post, RFK Jr. argued the ruling represent a democracy that is in "total shambles."
"Colorado Supreme Court ruling makes America look like a Banana Republic," he wrote. "Why doesn't every American understand that if they can do this to a former U.S. president, EVERYONE is vulnerable to punishment for crimes with which they have never been convicted."
RFK Jr. continued to criticize California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis after she demanded that Secretary of State Shirley Weber look into every "legal option" possible to keep Trump off of the Golden State's ballot.
"Someone needs to explain to Lt. Governor Kounalakis that in democracy, we choose candidates by VOTING," he said. "Not by legal maneuvers to get them off the ballot. Kounalakis has close ties to Gavin Newsom (of course), Kamala Harris, and Nancy Pelosi. She isn't just an individual with an agenda."
Kennedy pointed out that the Lt. Governor was deep in the Democratic Party, and all had one goal: to take Trump down.

Colorado's disqualification was made under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and tied to the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. The 4-3 ruling will stay in place until Jan. 4 because of likely appeals. Three justices on the Colorado Supreme Court dissented.
"Crooked Joe and the Democrats know they can't beat us at the ballot box, so their new plan is to nullify every single 'Trump ballot' in the nation to keep Biden in the White House," Trump said in a statement.
