America's trust in the media has fluctuated greatly over the years. We reported early this year that trust in the media hit an all-time low, as the majority of Americans believe that journalists are purposely trying to mislead the public and that media outlets are more concerned with supporting an ideology than informing the public. A new poll released this week found that the American public's trust in the media has, again, hit an all-time low.
