Former Rep. Allen West, who was injured in a motorcycle accident over the weekend, was released from the hospital on Monday and provided an update about his condition to his followers.
Both of West’s arms were bandaged, and the right one was in a sling.
"I'm back home now, and I just want to thank you all," West said. "I just thank God that I was able to make it through. It's going to be a little time to recover, but I'll be back out there."

West joked that he hoped to be back to running soon.
"Hopefully, I'll be running at least a mile within a week," he said. "But y'all didn't know they were making a new 'Scarface' movie and I'm going to be starring in it."
He continued: "This may slow me down a little bit, but it's not going to keep me doing from what God would have me to do, and that is to protect this great state and this great country."
On Sunday, an update was provided on his Facebook account that said he had a “concussion, several fractured bones, and multiple lacerations.”
West had been riding his motorcycle after a “Free Texas Rally” in Austin on Saturday when a car cut in front of him.
The former Florida lawmaker who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011-2013 is currently running for chairman of the Texas GOP.
